Free Fun In Austin continues to highlight Austin area locations and activities that may not be available at this time. We encourage you to take all safety measures to keep yourself and your neighbors safe. It is our hope that the stories and features on this site will help inform your plans in the future.

Monday

Baby Bloomers – Monday, April 25 from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. Give yourself a high five if you plan to visit the Thinkery to learn about your sense of touch. Children age 0-3 and their families are invited to create textured art, experiment with oobleck, stack wiggly, wobbly gelatin blocks, and much, much more. Local musician Miss Ariel joins the fun at 10:30 a.m. Cost: Members $2.50 each / Non-Members $4.50 each. All people attending, regardless of age, must purchase a ticket. Storytime Yoga (RSVP) – Monday, April 25 at 2:30 p.m. Bring your kids of all ages (babies are very welcome) to watch their favorite stories come to life through yoga poses. Reserve your child’s FREE spot here. The Little Yoga House, 1211 Parkway, Austin.

Elizabeth Kahura: Sounds of Africa – Monday, April 25 at 6:00 p.m. Experience the rhythms of Africa through song, drumming, and dance. Veteran Recognition Ceremony – Tuesday, April 26 at 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. During the ceremony, each U.S. veteran who served between Nov. 1, 1955 and May 15, 1975 will be recognized, thanked, and presented a Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pin. Guests are encouraged to visit The Wall That Heals before or after the ceremony. We Sing, We Play – Tuesday, April 26 from 5-7:00 p.m. This event will feature performances by students from Blackshear, Maplewood, Palm, Brentwood, and Promiseland Elementary Schools. Also performing will be preschoolers from Trinity, Little Folks, and Martin House. Songs will be accompanied by the Groundwork Music Orchestra. This event gives young students a chance to experience the joy of both music and performance.
