National Wienerschnitzel Day
Monday, September 9 | All Day | Various Locations

Wienerschnitzel, home of America’s favorite chili dog, is celebrating its namesake holiday, National Wienerschnitzel Day, by offering guests a free Chili Dog with purchase on Monday, September 9. Hot dog fans are encouraged to stop by their local Wienerschnitzel and show this coupon (printed or on a mobile device) to chow down on a free Original Chili Dog with any purchase.

Stem Club (Pflugerville)
Monday, September 9 | from 3:30 to 4 p.m. | Pflugerville Public Library, 1008 W Pfluger Street, Pflugerville

STEM at the library offers opportunities for kids 5 to 8 to creatively explore science, technology, engineering and math through different activities each week. This program starts on time.  Instructions and materials will be reviewed at the beginning.  Late comers will be accommodated when possible.


Homeschool Kids (Pflugerville)
Tuesday, September 10 | from 2 to 3 p.m. | Pflugerville Public Library, 1008 West Pfluger Street, Pflugerville

Children 5 to 8 with an adult are welcome. Informal enrichment activities that explore reading, science, art, and more. This program will begin on time. Please arrive a few minutes early. Latecomers will be accommodated when possible. Materials will be available while supplies last. The 9/10  activity is Board Games.

Traditional Korean Dancer and Storyteller Lee Young
Tuesday, September 10 | from 2 to 3 p.m. | Lake Travis Community Library, 1938 Lohmans Crossing

Homeschool Program: Traditional Korean Dance – Tuesday, September 10th at 2pm – Experience the rich culture of Korea with Lee Young, a Korean Traditional Dancer and storyteller. After her talk, Lee will perform a dance and allow attendees to try on traditional Korean clothing, play instruments, and dance to K-Pop. This program is tailored to ages 5 to 10, but open to all.

Tween Steam: Little Bits Short Circuits
Tuesday, September 10 | at 4 p.m. | University Hills Branch Library, 4721 Loyola Lane

Tinker with Little Bits magnetic circuits and see what you can create with them. There will also be supplies if you’d like to add to your invention, so get creative with us at the library. Ages 7 to 13 preferred.


Hill Country Galleria Hosts 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb
Wednesday, September 11 | from 7:45 to 9 a.m. | Hill Country Galleria, 12700 Hill Country Boulevard
Hill Country Galleria will host and sponsor the annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb in Bee Cave on Wednesday, September 11, beginning at 7:46 a.m. at Hill Country Galleria’s Parking Garage A (garage nearest Dillard’s). Bee Cave Police, Lakeway Police, and Lake Travis Fire Rescue will climb the equivalent of 110 stories of the World Trade Center to pay tribute to the fallen FDNY firefighters of September 11. The public is welcome to attend the event to support and cheer on the local Police and Firefighter teams as they endure this challenge. 9/11 Memorial Stair Climbs are not timed race events, but a way for firefighters and police to honor and remember the first responders who selflessly gave their lives so that others might live. Hill Country Galleria is also hosting a special ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of the Hill Country Galleria Community Security Center on Monday, September 9 at 9:30 a.m. The Community Security Center serves as a substation for Bee Cave Police and the office of Priebe Security. Bee Cave Mayor Monty Parker will be in attendance to cut the ribbon along with officers from the Bee Cave Police department and Hill Country Galleria Priebe Security officers. After the ceremony, guests can enjoy a reception with complimentary donuts and kolaches and have an opportunity to meet and speak with the Bee Cave PD and Priebe Security officers.

Kids Music with Amber, Johnny and Sharon
Wednesday, September 11 | from 6 to 7:30 p.m. | Central Market, 4477 South Lamar Boulevard
Join Amber, Johnny & Sharon for a wild array of streamers, bubbles, flying scarves, hoppin’ Dads, Moms and laughing kids. Energetic crowds of Moms, Dads and kids co-create the show with scarf snowball fights, bug toss games, drumming, dancing, clapping, singing and high-fiving. Includes Amber’s “Conga Line”, “Sock Hop” and the new “Mama-Papa Jam” (Moms and Dads play drums, harmonicas, kazoos, flute etc.) Grab some dinner in the cafe (kids eat Free too!)


Kids Crafternoons (Pflugerville)
Thursday, September 12 | from 3:30 to 4 p.m. | Pflugerville Public Library, 1008 West Pfluger Street, Pflugerville
Fun activities that encompass a variety of art forms. This program is for children 5 to 8 years old with a parent/caregiver. Materials provided while supplies last. The 9/12 activity is Sewn Notebook Covers – sponsored by Pflugerville Quilt Guild.

Science Under the Stars
Thursday, September 12 | from 7 to 9 p.m. | Brackenridge Field Laboratory, 2907 Lake Austin Boulevard
How to Think, Dance, and Grocery Shop Like a Bee! We humans depend on bees for a lot more than we realize, but the bees need our help! Around the world bees are struggling to survive and now it is up to us to save them. One place to start is to understand which bees live around us (spoiler alert: it’s not just honey bees!), how they think, and what they like to eat. We’ll share all the interesting ways scientists gather this information, what we know so far, and most importantly, what you can do to help! Science Under the Stars is a free public outreach lecture series in Austin.

Aladdin Free Outdoor Screening
Friday, September 13 | from 7 to 10 p.m. | Community Cinema & Amphitheater, 9301 Hog Eye Road

Mobile Loaves & Fishes invites you to a free movie night at our Community First! Village. Grab chairs and a blanket, bring family and friends, and enjoy this special screening. Come explore Community First! Village, pick your spot, and enjoy your favorite movie snacks from the Community Grille. Burgers, french fries, snacks, and drinks will be available for purchase (cards only, cash no longer accepted). The event is free, however a $5 donation would be highly appreciated. Donations can be made via donation bucket at the venue.
