This November, Amy’s Ice Creams celebrates 34 years of ‘Making People’s Day’. On November 7, 2017 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. they are giving back to the community with FREE ICE CREAM DAY. In Austin at all locations, Amy’s will be giving away scoops of ice cream with a crush’n, absolutely FREE of charge. All they ask is that you embrace this moment with each other, give thanks to live in this beautiful state, and Make People’s Day.

Experiencing Artist’s Books
Tuesday, November 7 at 5:30 p.m. | Fine Arts Library, 510 E 23rd St
The Fine Arts Library (FAL) at the University of Texas contains over 200 artists’ books, exemplifying different binding techniques, materials, sculptural forms and conceptual approache. Some of the books in the collection push the boundaries of reading by engaging with other senses such as smell, touch and taste. This event is associated programming for the new Visual Arts Center (VAC) exhibition Fool’s Romance / Books from Aeromoto curated by Allison Myers, Art History PhD candidate and 2016-2017 VAC Curatorial Fellow. Myers will lead a dialogue between local artists and bookmakers. After the dialogue, audience members will have the opportunity to engage with the unusual books in the collection. Pizza will be served while it lasts. FREE!

Jaelyn Penner
Jaelyn was born and raised in Kansas, but she got to Texas as soon as she could! After a few years of youthful fun in Dallas, Jaelyn decided to make her passion her career and headed to west Texas to make it happen. There, she honed her musical chops while studying Commercial Music, and then headed straight for Austin to help keep it weird. Once here, she unexpectedly found her soul mate, and loves that her husband and two boys are now her biggest fans! Besides being a musician, Jaelyn also works as a corporate event planner, is a self-proclaimed “celebratory expert” and a long-time foodie. She doesn’t feel complete unless she is keeping up with all the cool stuff Austin has to offer.
