Free Fun In Austin continues to highlight Austin area locations and activities that may not be available at this time. All Week

Waterloo Greenway’s Creek Show
November 7 through 17 | from 6 to 10 p.m. | Downtown Austin, Between 9th and 12th Streets
Austin’s signature fall event is back! Waterloo Greenway Conservancy’s 6th Annual Creek Show takes place November 7 through November 17 and runs from 6 to 10 p.m. nightly. On display between 9th and 12th streets, you don’t want to miss this free event featuring light-based art that attracted more than 50,000 visitors last year!This year’s installations include Aurora by 1909B, Downstream Upcycle by Design Workshop, The Ghost Boat by Nelsen Partners, Light House by Norma Sunny, m e a n d e r  by frankev, and String Theory by Boka Powell. Baby Storytime

A storytime for babies ages 0-12 months old, including songs, stories, and social time. Monday mornings at 10:30 a.m.

Toddler Storytime
Monday, November 11 | from 11:15 to 11:45 a.m. | Wells Branch Community Library, 15001 Wells Port Drive

A storytime for kids ages 1-3 years, including songs and stories, followed by play time. Mondays at 11:15 a.m and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.

BBVA Music Sessions with Wilderado
Monday, November 11 | from 6 to 10 p.m. | Symphony Square, 1111 Red River Street

Come rock out with indie band Wilderado, performing at the BBVA Music Sessions during Creek Show! Click here to claim two free tickets to the event.


Spanish Circle Time
Tuesday, November 12 | from 10:30 to 11 a.m. | Wells Branch Community Library, 15001 Wells Port Drive

Kids ages 0-3 learn basic concepts and Spanish vocabulary through songs and play, followed by social play time. Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m.

Pfestive Pfarmers Market
Tuesday, November 12 | from 3 to 7 p.m. | Green Red Barn at Heritage Park, 901 Old Austin Hutto Road, Pflugerville

It’s the time of the year when the Pflugerville Pfarmers Market gets pfestive! Shop seasonal goods from your favorite local vendors. Seasonal produce, scents and flavors will be in abundance. The Pfestive Pfarmers Market runs on November 12 & 26 as well as December 3 & 17 from 3-7 p.m., so be sure to check out all the pumpkin spice and peppermint products.

Line Dancing Class (Lockhart)
Tuesday, November 12 | from 7 to 8 p.m. | Lockhart State Park, 2012 State Park Road, Lockhart

Don’t miss the music and fun in this family-friendly dance class! All ages and abilities welcome. Join at Lockhart State Park for a lesson in country-style line dancing! Class is suitable for beginners and all ages. Prepare: Wear your dancing shoes and bring water. No registration required. Meet: Class will be held inside the park Recreation Hall. Fees: Class is free with paid entry to the park. Regular park entrance fees are $3/adult, free for children 12 & under. If office is closed when you arrive, please use the self-pay station to check in.

Homeschool Program: Building Circuits

Homeschool Program: Building Circuits – Tuesday, November 12th at 2pm – Become a circuit builder with host Pedernales Electric Cooperative! You’ll to learn how to construct series, parallel, and switch circuits. This hands-on science presentation is open to all!


Mommy N Me Story Time Gymnastics

Dirt Divas After School Club
Wednesday, November 13 | from 4 to 6 p.m. | Camacho Activity Center, 35 Robert T Martinez Jr. Street
Dirt Divas is every Wednesday from 4-6pm at Camacho activity center. Ages 3rd- 5th grade. Dirt Divas is an outdoor recreation and environmental education program for young girl participants that emphasizes women’s leadership roles in the outdoor recreation and environmental fields. Throughout the year, the DD program will introduce the participants to a variety of outdoor activities based around a central theme for each session. The program will promote sustainable practices through low-to-no environmental impact activities. Activities will range from nature-based arts and crafts, to kayaking, archery, service learning, snorkeling, outdoor cooking, and more. All activities will be lead entirely by women staff and each session will have at least one special woman guest leader from the community. All activities are designed to foster a safe space and promote inclusiveness.

Steam Studio

Science, technology, engineering, art, and math projects with a creative twist for kids ages 4-12 years. Wednesdays at 6 p.m.


AARP TX Walking Group at Mueller
Thursday, November 14 | from 8:15 to 9:30 a.m. | Mueller Lake Park, 4550 Mueller Drive

The weather is finally cooling off, so come get happier, get healthier, and get walking! Join AARP Texas and ATX Walks every Thursday in October and November (except Thanksgiving) for a trek around the Mueller neighborhood. Bring water and good walking shoes! Walks will last between 30 minutes and an hour. We’ll meet up near the Mueller Lake Park parking lot, across from the Thinkery on Simond Avenue. Look for the AARP sign.
Registration: 8:15 a.m.
Walks: 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.

Friday Movie Matinee

Friday, November 15 | at 6:30 p.m. | Lucy’s Fried Chicken, 2900 Ranch Road 620 North

You’re invited to Friendsgiving hosted by Table Church! Join us for dinner and drinks at Lucy’s Fried Chicken on Lake Travis. This is a community event open to anyone wanting to connect and meet new people. All ages are welcome! Registration is required so that we can ensure we have enough food prepared.
What to Expect for Adults?

  • Fried Chicken (We also have grilled chicken and vegetarian options for those who are a little more health-conscious.)
  • Opportunities to make new friends. (Connecting in a big city can be hard, but not at Friendsgiving! This event makes it EASY to meet new people.)
  • A gorgeous view of Lake Travis. (The Lake just makes everything better!)

    What to Expect for Kids?
  • Playground (Lucy’s has a great play area attached to the restaurant.)
  • Bounce House (No party would be complete without one!)
  • Pumpkin decorating (Its fall SO pumpkins are a must!)

Adult or kid, one thing we can guarantee you’ll find is a bunch of friendly faces ready to make friends and have a good time. Mark your calendars and register for an amazing night!

SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME (2019) Free Outdoor Screening w/ Tarrytown UMC
Friday, November 15 | from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. | Community Cinema & Amphitheater, 9301 Hog Eye Road

Mobile Loaves & Fishes and Tarrytown United Methodist Church invite you to a free movie night at Community First! Village. Grab chairs and a blanket, bring family and friends, and enjoy this special screening.
Come explore Community First! Village, pick your spot, and enjoy your favorite movie snacks from the Community Grille. Burgers, french fries, snacks, and drinks will be available for purchase (cards only, cash no longer accepted).
The event is free, however a $5 donation would be highly appreciated. Donations can be made electronically when RSVPing to this event or via donation bucket at the venue. We encourage you to support our Community Grille rather than bringing outside food and drinks.
Guided tours of the Village are offered at most public Community Cinema events and will take place between listed event start time and prior to start of the film. Movies begin at full dark and/or ~an hour after event start time, depending on the season.
