Fun Arts Exhibit (Cedar Park)

Somewhere between the noble realm of Fine Art and the mighty realm of Illustration, lies a curious little field that is coming to be known as Fun Art. Cedar Park Public Library hosts this Fun Arts Exhibit, proudly sponsored by FunArtsWorld.com and Texas Cartoonists – National Cartoonists Society Texas Chapter.

Faces of Barton Springs: An Interactive Installation Curated by Karen Kocher and Lauren Jaben
Monday, April 30 to Friday, May 4 | from 12 to 5 p.m. | The Historic Barton Springs Bathhouse, 2201 Barton Springs Rd.
Barton Springs Conservancy is pleased to announce the multi-media Faces of Barton Springs. This interactive installation celebrates the many communities who swim at the Springs. It features a photo montage of Barton Springs swimmers from all walks of life ranging from artists and athletes to scientists and spiritual seekers. Visitors are invited to create their own Barton Springs poems on our wall-size magnetic poetry tree, share a personal reflection or memory about Barton Springs on the community kiosk, and pose for a selfie with a life-sized vintage swimmer cut-out. The installation will also feature listening stations showcasing poetry, music, and other Springs-related lore.

Color Your Way Through Finals

When you are a big ball of stress, let our crayons handle the rest! Stop by the store all week to breathe and enjoy our coloring table, just for you!

Kids Eat Free

Treat the kids without breaking the bank! Receive one free kids meal per $8 adult entrée. Excludes alcohol. Dine-in only.

Dancers Shape Hosts Free Fitness Series Pilates in the Park
Monday, May 7 | from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. | Dancers Shape, 13742 Bee Cave Pkwy.

With the arrival of warmer weather, it’s the perfect time to take your workout outside with Dancers Shape’s free four-week fitness series, Pilates in the Park. Beginning Monday, April 30 and taking place weekly, the studio will host a free mat Pilates class at Bee Cave Central Park next door to their new studio at Hill Country Indoor. Come for one class or all four full body, power-packed classes combining traditional elements of pilates, yoga, and barre into a quick paced flow on the mat.  The classes will focus on functional movement to build strength throughout the core while sculpting the most difficult trouble areas just in time for summer. Guests should bring their own mat, water, and full length towel. The group will meet under the pavilion at the park.

Read With a Ranger
Tuesday, May 8 | from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. | Zilker Caretaker Cottage, 2105 Andrew Zilker Rd.

You and your children are invited to story time with the Park Rangers. A Ranger will read a nature-based story and follow it up with a hands-on lesson about Leave No Trace and Responsible Recreation! The event will be held indoors if raining, or in the outdoor classroom if it is clear.

Story time with Dru Woods (Pflugerville)
Tuesday, May 8 | from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. | Pflugerville Public Library, 1008 Pfluger St. W, Pflugerville

Join Dru Woods, Storyteller Unleashed, and her friends for an interactive story time that incorporates music and puppets. This program will be offered in lieu of Bilingual Story Time today. Partially funded by Texas Commission on the Arts. Free! Space is limited. First come, first served.

Free Zumbini! Classes
Tuesday, May 8 | from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. | Balance Dance Studios, 4544 S Lamar Blvd. #200

Welcome to Zumbini! Please wear comfortable clothes, feel free to bring water and snacks as needed for the little ones, and come to dance, sing, have fun and play! A Welcome Package will be provided to you along with the Volume I will be teaching for Spring Session: “Kalino Finds the Music”! Spring Session classes run on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. They run for six weeks, skipping Memorial Day week (there will be no classes on May 29 and 31). Participants are welcomed to join for a free first class!

The Annual Student Art Exhibition (Georgetown)

The Sarofim School of Fine Arts’ Studio Art Department is excited to present the Annual Student Art Exhibition. The exhibition is held each year to celebrate the work and achievements of all studio art students. The exhibition will showcase pieces from a variety of mediums that students have produced throughout the academic year. Free and open to the public. Exhibit ends Tuesday, May 8.

Urban Interface Homeschool Program

Urban Interface will give your child the opportunity to interact with wildlife! This program is tailored to homeschoolers ages 5 to 10, but is open to all.

Theatre en Bloc is proud to present the regional premiere of Cry It Out, an emotional comedic play written by Molly Smith Metzler and directed by Lily Wolff. Cry It Out will be presented on ZACH’s Whisenhunt Stage for a three-week run of 11 performances, beginning May 4. Accessible art is completely free but donations are accepted.

Movies in the Park – The Emperor’s New Groove

Get your groove on this summer for Movies in the Park. Join for a unique showing of The Emperor’s New Groove at Dick Nichols Park.  Every summer, Austin Parks Foundation and the Alamo Drafthouse partner up to bring free movies to parks across Austin. Make sure to bring your kids for a fun-filled summer night under the stars!

Community Spring Picnic

Mobile Loaves & Fishes invites you to a FREE movie night at Community First! Village. Grab chairs and a blanket, bring family and friends, and enjoy this special screening of  The Greatest Showman. Get there as early as 6:30 to explore Community First! Village, pick your spot, and enjoy your favorite movie snacks. Hot dogs, milkshakes, popcorn, candy and drinks will be available for purchase (cash preferred). The event is free, however a $5 donation would be highly appreciated.
