Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland – Monday, May 25 – Friday, May 29 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Exhibit is open until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.) The Ransom Center celebrates 150 years of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland with an exhibition for the curious and curiouser of all ages. Learn about Lewis Carroll and the real Alice who inspired his story. See one of the few surviving copies of the first edition of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Discover the rich array of personal and literary references that Carroll incorporated throughout Alice. Explore the surprising transformations of Alice and her story as they have traveled through time and across continents. Follow the White Rabbit’s path through the exhibition, have a tea party, or watch a 1933 paper filmstrip that has been carefully treated by Ransom Center conservators. The Center’s vast collections offer a new look at a story that has delighted generations and inspired artists from Salvador Dalí to Walt Disney. Read about Katey’s experience here. FREE! Free Admission to The LBJ Presidential Library – Monday, May 25 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. To ensure President Johnson’s wish for the library to “be available to all,” entrance fees are waived on several days during the year, including Memorial Day. Memorial Day Ceremony (Georgetown) – Monday, May 25 at 9:30 a.m. The program begins with a ceremonial presentation of flags involving several color guards. It also includes guest speaker Rep. John Carter, singing of the national anthem, presentation of wreaths at both Memorial Walls, the sounding of taps, and a flyover performed by Falcon Flight. FREE! Georgetown-Williamson County Veterans Memorial Plaza, 2 Texas Dr, Georgetown.

Memorial Day Service at Texas State Cemetery – Monday, May 25 at 10:00 a.m. The Daughters of the American Revolution host this ceremony honoring all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service for our country. There will be a color guard and musket salute by Sons of the American Revolution in period dress, Lt. General Paul E Funk will speak, Gary Knippa will lead singing, and The Austin Symphonic MicroBand will provide music. This service is open to all who wish to attend. Signing Storytime (Round Rock) – Monday, May 25 at 10:00 a.m. Join the Baby Signing Time revolution. This class is geared toward children 0-5 years and their parents. Amy from The Signing Connection will lead this storytime that incorporates classic children’s books to help you learn basic American Sign Language signs. FREE! Veterans Park and Veterans Monument Dedication Ceremony (Round Rock) – Monday, May 25 at Noon. Hotdogs and refreshments will be served starting at noon with the Veterans Monument Ceremony and Park Grand Opening to follow at 1:00 p.m. The dedication will honor past and present veterans throughout Central Texas. Americana Memories Film Screening: The Empire Strikes Back – Wednesday, May 27 at 6:30 p.m. The Americana opened as a state-of-the-art theater in April 1965. When it closed in April 1987, it was the last single-screen theater in town. The building reopened as the Yarborough Branch in January 1999. You started the month by celebrating Star Wars Day, so end it by watching The Empire Strikes Back. Light refreshments provided.
