Free Fun In Austin continues to highlight Austin area locations and activities that may not be available at this time. Happening All Week

Beyond Bollywood: Indian Americans Shape the Nation Exhibit
Monday, March 26 to Friday, March 30 | from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. | Asian American Resource Center, 8401 Cameron Rd.
Through a vibrant collection of photographs, artifacts, art and interactive learning stations, visitors will experience the Indian American story and explore the many dynamic roles Indian Americans have played in shaping America. Complementing the exhibit, SAAM will host eight docent and educational programming days. Activities include group gallery tours, specialized programming that cover topics on Indian Immigration history, Indian Classical Dance, and Indian Jewelry, and special events such as an Indian regional fashion show, author readings, lectures, and a film screening. The exhibition is presented in partnership between City of Austin’s Asian American Resource Center (AARC) and South Asian Austin Moms (SAAM). FREE and open to the public.

Abloom at Domain NORTHSIDE
Monday, March 26 to Friday, March 30 | All Day | Domain NORTHSIDE, Rock Rose Ave.
One of Domain NORTHSIDE’s most beloved events returns March 24 through March 31. Guests will be enchanted as Domain NORTHSIDE transforms into a colorful, whimsical, and floral neighborhood as we head into the spring season. Guests will be able to enjoy a variety of complimentary activities, sales, and promotions in the community with a number of musical experiences. Fun Arts Exhibit (Cedar Park)
Monday, March 26 to Friday, March 30 | All Day | Cedar Park Public Library, 550 Discovery Blvd., Cedar Park
Somewhere between the noble realm of Fine Art and the mighty realm of Illustration, lies a curious little field that is coming to be known as Fun Art. Cedar Park Public Library hosts this Fun Arts Exhibit, proudly sponsored by FunArtsWorld.com and Texas Cartoonists – National Cartoonists Society Texas Chapter.


Kids’ Yoga
Monday, March 26 | from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. | Yarbrough Branch, Austin Public Library, 2200 Hancock Dr.
Registered yoga instructor Ali Kamas will lead the class in this fun and playful yoga practice. It is the perfect way for boys and girls to transition from the school hours. Recommended for ages 7 through 12 years. Adult companions are welcome to participate, as well. Please bring your own yoga mat or towel.

Capitol Rotunda Community Sing
Monday, March 26 | from 7 to 9 p.m. | Texas State Capitol, 1100 Congress Ave.
Meet in the rotunda of the Texas State Capitol the first and last Monday of the month to sing wholeheartedly in the oral tradition of community singing. Simple yet powerful songs are taught call-and-response, creating an open and welcoming environment for all, regardless of singing experience or background.
Gifts of the monetary persuasion are graciously accepted to help support our mutual flourishing but are by no means required. Your presence is the greatest gift at all. It’s an uplifting and inspiring way to engage with friends, neighbors and new faces.

Read with a Ranger
Tuesday, March 26 | from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. | Zilker Ranger Station, 2105 Andrew Zilker Rd.
You and your children are invited to story time with the Park Rangers. A Ranger will read a nature-based story and follow it up with a hands-on lesson about Leave No Trace and Responsible Recreation! The event will be held indoors if raining, or in the outdoor classroom if it is clear. This program is held every Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. at the Zilker Caretaker Cottage.

Tween Hangout Night (Pflugerville)
Tuesday, March 26 | from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. | Pflugerville Public Library, 1008 W. Pfluger St., Pflugerville
Each month tweens between ages 8 to 12 can drop in for a different activity. The March 27 activity is Fuse Bead Crafts.

Free Self-Defense for Women! (Leander)
Tuesday, March 26 | from 7:20 to 8:20 p.m. | Leander Taekwondo Training Center, 304 Hazlewood St., # 1, Leander
FREE Self Defense Class hosted by Master Evans and Heather Evans for women ages 13+. Learn simple strategies that are invaluable for self-defense situations. Learn how to stay safe and how to get to safety. Learn how to strike and where to strike. Learn the mindset needed for self-defense situations. There will be hands-on practice so feel free to bring a friend you feel comfortable with.

Join Usborne Books at The Hive for a story time and fun craft! Supervised child care will be available afterward if you want to take an hour to relax after story time.

FIT4MOM Hill Country – Easter Egg Hunt and Playdate (Liberty Hill)
Wednesday, March 28 | from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. | Liberty Hill State Park, CO Rd. 200, Liberty Hill
Grab your baskets and join us for a FREE Community Playdate and EASTER EGG HUNT. Kids of all ages will enjoy this fun activity and have a chance to meet the EASTER BUNNY, while mamas get to know the FIT4MOM Hill Country tribe. Stroller Strides, Easter egg hunt, workout, play date or BOTH! First class is free. Stroller Strides is a total fitness program that moms can do with their kids. It includes power walking/jogging and intervals of strength and body toning exercises. Fun for mom and kiddos!

Story Time Egg Hunt (Pflugerville)

Children up to age 5, with their favorite grown up, are invited to bring a basket and enjoy chicken-themed books and songs before joining in an egg hunt in the Library courtyard (weather permitting).

Cuddle Up and Read: Infant Storytime

New at the Manchaca Road Branch beginning, the Austin Public Library will be providing our special lap-sit storytime designed for our very youngest library users, infants ages 0-12 months! Join for this sweet, weekly, social, storytime where together we will sing, chant read and play, helping parents and caregivers incorporate early childhood literacy practices into their daily lives.

Concerts In the Park (Cedar Park)

Join for a concert in the park with Suede. Bring your lawn chairs/blankets as there is plenty of space. Food concessions will be available, but you are welcome to bring a picnic and your own ice chest. Glass containers are prohibited.

DOCTOR STRANGE Live Magic Show at The Community Cinema at Community First! Village
Friday, March 30 | from 7 to 10 p.m. | The Community Cinema at Community First! Village, 9301 Hog Eye Rd.
Mobile Loaves & Fishes invites you to a FREE movie night at Community First! Village. Grab chairs and a blanket, bring family and friends, and enjoy this special screening of Doctor Strage, . complete with a magic show. Get there as early as 6:30 to explore Community First! Village, pick your spot, and enjoy your favorite movie snacks. Hot dogs, milkshakes, popcorn, candy and drinks will be available for purchase (cash preferred). The event is free, however a $5 donation would be highly appreciated.

Friday Night Flix
Friday, March 30 | at 8 p.m. | Lone Star Court, 10901 Domain Dr.
Enjoy beautiful spring evenings at Lone Star Court’s lush lawn pavilion area during the property’s Friday Night Flix series. These screenings of classic movies are free and open to the public and take place on last Friday of each month at 8 p.m. All are invited to bring their lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy a night out on the lawn. The restaurant on-site, The Water Trough, will also offer happy hour prices all night. The series will kick off with an all-time favorite: Ferris Bueller’s Day Off!
