Bring the Sing Family Karaoke

Calling all future Bellas and their embarrassing parents! Join for a free all-ages karaoke party on the last Sunday of every month. Take over the Barrel O’ Fun for onstage karaoke with a full catalog of songs. They’ll have props to take it to the next level and onstage challenges for the very brave of heart. If you’ve dreamed of being in PITCH PERFECT or killing it at the school talent show, this party is for you. Kids 13 and under must be accompanied by a parent but teens are welcome to come solo. Free event!

Is it Normal? Talking to 2-8 Year Olds About Their Body  (Georgetown)

Calling all parents of 2-8 year olds! Do you cringe when you think about talking to your young kids about their bodies? Do you wonder if it’s normal for your preschooler to be a nudist? Are you concerned about how to teach your children about keeping their bodies safe and private? Bring these questions and more and join Tiffany Sturman, M.P.H. for a lively and interesting discussion about how to communicate with your children about their bodies! Practice Yoga Austin YTT Presents Summer At The Springs

The tradition of #FreeYoga, #FreeSnacks & #FreeSwim continues for the 6th Annual Summer At The Springs! Practice Yoga Austin’s Teacher Trainers will be leading class every Monday night through August at 7:30 on the Zilker hillside. Post yoga fuel will be provided by Thunderbird Bar, Local Leaf Tea, Kosmic Kombucha, Curcuma, Rhythm Superfoods, Wildway, BE-KIND Snacks and Bento Picnic followed by Free Swim at Barton Springs!

Summer Kid Series
Tuesday, July 31 | from 10 to 11 a.m. | Austin Humane Society, 124 W. Anderson Ln.
The youngest animal lover in your life has more reason to celebrate this summer, as our Summer Kids Series gets underway. 2018 marks six years for the family favorite that allows kids to get hands on as they learn more about the world of animals and the Austin Humane Society. Along the way they’ll find out what it means to care for a pet of their own and be inspired to help animals in need. This session is an Arts Workshop and is for ages 8 and younger.

Free Baby Playtime at Toybrary (For 1-6 months old)
Tuesday, July 31 | from 1 to 3 p.m. | Toybrary, 2001 Justin Ln.
Join for a FREE baby play time at Toybrary Austin every Tuesday afternoon. Babies must be 1 mo. to 6 mos. to participate.

Yoga for Teens and Tweens
Tuesday, July 31 | at 3 p.m. | APL Yarborough Branch, 2200 Hancock Dr.
Tweens and Teens ages 8 and up should join us to unwind and cool down on Tuesday afternoons with Pure Action Yoga.  This class is designed specifically for ages 8 to 17. Austin Public Library offers other yoga and meditation programs for different ages. Check the calendar for where and when.

Grace Dental in Leander, TX is holding a family fun day in appreciation of all our local families. Ms. Poppy the face painter/balloon maker will be there, with snow cones, cotton candies, cookies and cupcake decorating, and a Kinect challenge. Costco will be at the event with their giveaways.

Community Night: Teddy Bear Clinic with Dell Children’s ($1)
Wednesday, August 1 | from 4 to 8 p.m. | Thinkery, 1830 Simond Ave.
Does your teddy have a tummy ache? Is your stuffed friend feeling feverish? Did your bear get a boo-boo? Bring your favorite stuffed friend to Thinkery and enjoy a hands-on, fun-filled Teddy Bear Clinic! During this special Community Night, kiddos have the chance to become the healthcare provider and learn about what it’s like at Dell Children’s Medical Center.  Play with doctors, nurses and staff from Dell Children’s! Take your stuffed friend through interactive stations including surgery, imaging, injury prevention and more. Admission during Community Night (Wednesdays from 4–8 pm) is by donation, with a suggested donation of $1.

Dog Days of Summer

The dog days are upon us so Austin Parks Foundation has partnered with Texas Rowing Center to host Dog Days every Thursday from July 26 to August 23! 50% of proceeds from each day will go back to Austin Parks Foundation, so head out on the water with your pup while also giving back to Austin’s parks. There are a limited number of doggy life vests available, so bring your own if you have one!

Tiny Pies’ Summer Pies Social Series
Thursday, August 2 | from 7 to 9 p.m. | Tiny Pies, 2032 S Lamar Blvd. 
Mingle and toast the summer sun with us and other Austin businesses. Samples for everyone and activities for the kids. Partnering with favorite local food and beverage brands, Tiny Pies will release a new summer pie flavor each night, highlighting a special ingredient with each week. South Main Music Nights Concert Series (Buda)

60th Anniversary Zilker Summer Musical: All Shook Up

This summer, ZTP journeys back to the 1950’s — the era of the first Zilker Summer Musical — with the Elvis-inspired All Shook Up! And it wouldn’t be a true Elvis-style party without some blue suede shoes. All Shook Up, set in 1950’s Middle America, is a new twist on on Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. The ZTP Team can’t wait to share this toe-tapping, hip-shaking musical comedy – featuring 24 Elvis hits – as well as lots of laughs, love songs and leather jackets. Free admission.

Take your blankets and lawn chairs to Bryant Park and enjoy a film under the stars during the Movie in the East series. Glass containers are prohibited. Admission is free. All movies start at dusk.

The Sandlot Free Outdoor Screening

Mobile Loaves & Fishes invites you to a FREE movie night at Community First! Village. Grab chairs and a blanket, bring family and friends, and enjoy this special screeningGet there early to explore Community First! Village, pick your spot, and enjoy your favorite movie snacks. Hot dogs, milkshakes, popcorn, candy and drinks will be available for purchase (cash preferred). The event is free, however a $5 donation would be highly appreciated.
