Pajama Story Time
Monday, January 13 | at 6:30 p.m. | Austin Public Library, 710 West César Chávez Street

Feel free to wear pajamas to this family storytime in the evening featuring stories, songs, rhymes, games, crafts, and other activities. Program length can vary. Programs begin on time, for best experience we recommend you do too! Please arrive a few minutes early to gain entrance. Note that in some locations, free tickets (available in the branch on the day of the program) will be required for admittance. Recommended for ages 5 and under.

Tuesday, January 14 | from 1 to 3 p.m. | Toybrary, 2001 Justin Lane
Have coffee and hang out with other new parents. This event is FREE for parents and babies between 0 to 6 months old.

Line Dancing Class (Lockhart)
Tuesday, January 14 | from 7 to 8 p.m. | Lockhart State Park, 2012 State Park Road, Lockhart
Don’t miss the music and fun in this family-friendly dance class! All ages and abilities welcome. Join at Lockhart State Park for a lesson in country-style line dancing! Class is suitable for beginners and all ages. Wear your dancing shoes and bring water. No registration required. Class will be held inside the park Recreation Hall. Class is free with paid entry to the park. Regular park entrance fees are $3/adult, free for children 12 & under. If our office is closed when you arrive, please use the self-pay station to check in.

Donation Based Storytime Yoga
Wednesday, January 15 | from 9:30 to 10 a.m. | Little Yoga House, 2700 West Anderson Lane Suite 229
Bring your kids of all ages (babies are very welcome) to watch their favorite stories come to life through yoga poses in this donation based class! If you’ve never visited our studio, this is a great way to get an idea of what kids yoga looks like! *please register online beforehand*

Ladybug Music Free Demo Class
Wednesday, January 15 | from 10 to 10:30 a.m. | The Dance Loft at Movin’ Easy Dancewear, 404 West 30th Street
Join a FREE DEMO Class of the award-winning kids music program, Ladybug Music®, to see what it’s all about. These parent-and-child (infants – 4 years) classes are the perfect way to “sing it, boogie down and have fun,” while your kid works on some important developmental skills. Dirt Divas After School Club
Wednesday, January 15 | from 4 to 6 p.m. | Camacho Activity Center, 35 Robert T Martinez Jr. Street
Dirt Divas is every Wednesday at Camacho Activity Center for ages 3rd through 5th grade. Dirt Divas is an outdoor recreation and environmental education program for young girl participants that emphasizes women’s leadership roles in the outdoor recreation and environmental fields. Throughout the year, the DD program will introduce the participants to a variety of outdoor activities based around a central theme for each session. The program will promote sustainable practices through low-to-no environmental impact activities. Activities will range from nature-based arts and crafts, to kayaking, archery, service learning, snorkeling, outdoor cooking, and more. All activities will be lead entirely by women staff and each session will have at least one special woman guest leader from the community. All activities are designed to foster a safe space and promote inclusiveness.

Kids Music with Amber, Johnny and Sharon
Wednesday, January 15 | from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. | Central Market Westgate, 4477 South Lamar Boulevard
Join Amber, Johnny & Sharon for a wild array of streamers, bubbles, flying scarves, hoppin’ Dads, Moms and laughing kids. Energetic crowds co-create the show with scarf snowball fights, bug toss games, drumming, dancing, clapping, singing and high-fiving. Includes Amber’s “Conga Line”, “Sock Hop” and the new “Mama-Papa Jam” (Moms and Dads play drums, harmonicas, kazoos, flute etc.) Grab dinner in the cafe (kids eat free too!).

Perler Bead Palooza

Yarn Craft Club

Do you want to learn some new knitting and crocheting techniques? Or work on your yarn project with other yarn lovers in a casual setting? Join on the first and third Thursday of each month from 7 to 8 p.m. This is for anyone from 10 to 110 interested in knitting and crocheting.

Dual Language Story Time
Friday, January 17 | at 10 a.m. | Austin Public Library – St. John Branch, 7500 Blessing Avenue

All ages storytime which uses both English and Spanish to present books, rhymes and songs. It differs from a traditional bilingual storytime in that some material is presented in English while other material is presented in Spanish, allowing for a natural transition between stories and activities and exposing children to both languages in an inviting environment. Program length can vary.
Esta hora del cuento es para niños y niñas desde bebitos hasta de edad escolar y para sus padres. Se presentarán libros, rimas, y canciones en inglés y en español. Difiere de un programa tradicionalmente bilingüe en que el material no va a ser traducido de un idioma al otro, sino que presentaremos algunas cosas en inglés y otras en español empapando a los niños en los dos idiomas. De esta manera ellos se sentirán cómodos usando los dos idiomas. Recomendado para niños y niñas menores de 5 años.

Asia Story Time Vietnam

Explore Vietnamese culture through storytelling, play, and craft making! Featuring Ten Mice for Tet written by Pegi Deitz Shea and Cynthia Weill, illustrated by To Ngoc Trang, and embroidered by Pham Viet Dinh and Why Ducks Sleep on One Leg written by Sherry Garland and illustrated by Jean and Mou-Sien Tseng. Recommended for ages 3-7. Free and open to the public.

Friday Movie Matinee – Spider-Man: Far From Home
