Baby Storytime

A storytime for babies ages 0-12 months old, including songs, stories, and social time. Monday mornings at 10:30am.

Toddler Storytime

A storytime for kids ages 1-3 years, including songs and stories, followed by play time. Mondays at 11:15 a.m and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.

Family Clay Day
Monday, October 7 | from 3 to 6 p.m. | Dougherty Arts Center, 110 Barton Springs Road

Come play with some clay! We’re making fall-themed pottery projects including pinch pot pumpkins, apple shaped bowls, and leaf prints. Glaze your work of art and leave it behind to be fired in our kilns. You’ll pick up your beautiful and functional ceramic artwork in two weeks! Spanish Circle Time

Public Lecture with Architect David Adjaye
Tuesday, October 8 | from 4 to 5 p.m. | LBJ Auditorium, 2200 South Lakeshore Boulevard

Join the University of Texas School of Architecture for a stimulating public lecture from world-renowned architect Sir David Adjaye OBE in the Lady Bird Johnson Auditorium on Tuesday, October 8 at 4 p.m. Adjaye is recognized as a leading architect of his generation and is Principal and Founder of Adjaye Associates, which has offices in London, New York and Accra. The firm has undertaken residential, commercial, planning and research projects across Europe, North America, the Middle East, Asia and Africa, but is most well-known for its civic and cultural buildings including the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture on the National Mall in Washington D.C.; the Moscow School of Management; and Ruby City, an art center in San Antonio that opens this October. The event is free and open to the public.

The Trivia Factory

Avenue
The Trivia Factory brings the nation’s best live hosted trivia night to Fareground! Join us for Trivia Night! The weekly event is free to play and there will be gift cards for our top teams at the end of the night. Gather your smartest friends and come down. There will be food available from Fareground partners, including TVL, Dai Due Taqueria, Henbit, Italic and Ni-Komé.

Steam Studio

Science, technology, engineering, art, and math projects with a creative twist for kids ages 4-12 years. Wednesdays at 6 p.m.

Empty Puppy Bowls – National Clay Week
Wednesday, October 9 | from 6 to 8 p.m. | Dougherty Arts Center, 110 Barton Springs Road
Join us for the Dougherty’s Third Annual Empty Puppy Bowls event where free activities will include glazing ceramic pet bowls, doggie paw prints in clay, and a photo booth; all while helping out local pet rescue organizations. Ozobots are versatile, programmable robots that are suitable for teaching coding and computational thinking. Come out and learn more about using them and create simple code to activate them.

Squeeze the Day with Kendra Scott

Join us as we spread awareness about breast self-exams and early detection! In partnership with Ascension Seton Medical Center, the Kendra Scott flagship store on South Congress will host onsite education around self-checks and breast cancer by Ascension Nurses followed by an informative panel on breast cancer education. Toy Story 4 Free Outdoor Screening with Spirit 105.9

Mobile Loaves & Fishes invites you to a free movie night at our Community First! Village. Grab chairs and a blanket, bring family and friends, and enjoy this special screening. Explore Community First! Village, pick your spot, and enjoy your favorite movie snacks from the Community Grille. Burgers, french fries, snacks, and drinks will be available for purchase (cards only, cash no longer accepted). The event is free, however a $5 donation would be highly appreciated.

Movies at Lake Park

Join in October for two free, family-friendly events taking place at Mueller’s outdoor amphitheater. The October 11 movie is Beauty and the Beast (animated version).
