Santa’s Wonderland

Santa’s Wonderland is the ultimate free family Christmas event. The magic returns to Bass Pro Shops and Austin-area families are invited to enjoy this enchanting Christmas village offering FREE 4×6 studio-quality photos with Santa and free family holiday activities including fun crafts and games. Features include rustic Christmas cabins, holiday characters and live elves set amongst a dazzling backdrop of snow-covered hills and illuminated Christmas trees. The Santa’s Wonderland Christmas village offers remote control trucks, laser/ foam toy arcade, Lincoln Logs building area and much more. Kids can also enjoy free crafts, coloring stations and write a letter to Santa.

Toddler Storytime

A storytime for kids ages 1-3 years, including songs and stories, followed by play time. Mondays at 11:15 a.m and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.

Bluegrass Night at Radio

Spanish Circle Time

Kids ages 0-3 learn basic concepts and Spanish vocabulary through songs and play, followed by social play time. Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m.

Making Amate: The Bark Paper of the Aztec and the Maya
Tuesday, November 19 | from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. | APL Cepeda Branch

During this hands-on demonstration, Yamandu Ploskonka will share about amate, its history, and cultural impact. Participants will make an amate piece to take home. The Aztec and Maya had thousands of books made of amate, a paper-like material, long before the arrival of the Spanish. Amate papermaking was forbidden during the Colonial era, but survived in some hard-to-reach valleys among the Otomi Nation, in Mexico. During this hands-on demonstration, Yamandu Ploskonka will share about amate, its history and cultural impact, and about the Otumi Hñähñu today as they continue making amate in San Pablito, using similar methods to those used for hundreds of years. Line Dancing Class (Lockhart)

Don’t miss the music and fun in this family-friendly dance class! All ages and abilities welcome. Join at Lockhart State Park for a lesson in country-style line dancing! Class is suitable for beginners and all ages. Prepare: Wear your dancing shoes and bring water. No registration required. Meet: Class will be held inside the park Recreation Hall. Fees: Class is free with paid entry to the park. Regular park entrance fees are $3/adult, free for children 12 & under. If office is closed when you arrive, please use the self-pay station to check in.

Dirt Divas After School Club
Wednesday, November 20 | from 4 to 6 p.m. | Camacho Activity Center, 35 Robert T Martinez Jr. Street
Dirt Divas is every Wednesday from 4-6pm at Camacho activity center. Ages 3rd- 5th grade. Dirt Divas is an outdoor recreation and environmental education program for young girl participants that emphasizes women’s leadership roles in the outdoor recreation and environmental fields. Throughout the year, the DD program will introduce the participants to a variety of outdoor activities based around a central theme for each session. The program will promote sustainable practices through low-to-no environmental impact activities. Activities will range from nature-based arts and crafts, to kayaking, archery, service learning, snorkeling, outdoor cooking, and more. All activities will be lead entirely by women staff and each session will have at least one special woman guest leader from the community. All activities are designed to foster a safe space and promote inclusiveness.

Steam Studio

Kids Music With Amber, Johnny and Sharon

Join Amber, Johnny & Sharon for a wild array of streamers, bubbles, flying scarves, hoppin’ Dads, Moms and laughing kids. Energetic crowds co-create the show with scarf snowball fights, bug toss games,drumming, dancing, clapping, singing and high-fiving. Includes Amber’s “Conga Line”, “Sock Hop” and the new “Mama-Papa Jam” (Moms and Dads play drums, harmonicas, kazoos, flute etc.) Grab dinner in the cafe (kids eat free too!)

Movie Night at the Market: It’s a Wonderful Life

Join Texas Farmers’ Market at Mueller for our free movie series! On the last Wednesday of every month we will be projecting an awesome, family-friendly film under the hangar. Back by popular demand, this month we are celebrating with a holiday classic, It’s a Wonderful Life. We hope you will join us by picking up some snacks at market vendors and then settling in to watch this 1946 film starring James Stewart that is considered by many to be one of the greatest films ever made. The Mozart’s Joyous Light Show is back for the 10th year in a row! Come celebrate the season with us. Magical lights, delicious hot chocolate, tasty treats, and a wonderful time for the whole family. Open every day except Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Open Christmas Eve until 10 p.m.

Blue Genie Art Bazaar Opening Day

Mobile Loaves & Fishes and Caravan Of Wonders invite you to a free movie night at Community First! Village. Caravan Of Wonders will be leading an interactive game for children before the movie starts! Grab chairs and a blanket, bring family and friends, and enjoy this special screening. Come explore Community First! Village, pick your spot, and enjoy your favorite movie snacks from the Community Grille. Burgers, french fries, snacks, and drinks will be available for purchase (cards only, cash no longer accepted).
The event is free, however a $5 donation would be highly appreciated.
