Echoes and Spaces, New Paintings by Shawn Camp and Luna Waldrep

In Echoes and SpacesLana Waldrep-Appl and Shawn Camp explore the feelings of the sublime that happen in those moments when you allow yourself to completely reside inside of the space you are in. These paintings feel like daydreaming, an activity that takes place primarily when one is doing nothing.

Annual Texas Independence Day Celebration
Monday, March 2 | 5 to 10 p.m. | Scholz Garten, 1607 San Jacinto Boulevard
The Historic Scholz Garten is celebrating Texas Independence day with free live music all evening. Music starts at 6 p.m., with food and drink specials all night. Event is kid and god-friendly!

Free Bump Club and Beyond Playdate
Monday, March 2 | 10 to 11 a.m. | Austin Fire Department Station #9, 4301 Speedway
Bring the entire family out to Austin Fire Department #9 for a free tour! Activities include fire prevention discussion, a station tour, a truck tour, and gear demonstration.


Bilingual Boogie
Tuesday, March 3 | From 10:30 to 11 a.m. | Austin Public Library, Little Walnut Creek Branch, 835 West Rundberg Lane
Designed for kids ages 3 to 5, this class gets them moving and grooving while learning Spanish! Come dance, sing, and play games during this unique storytime.

Early Literacy Playgroup
Tuesday, March 3 | From 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. | Austin Public Library, Willie Mar Kirk Branch, 3101 Oak Springs Drive
Playing is learning! Play is a great way to help develop and reinforce early literacy skills. Recommended for children 5 years old and under.

Donation Based Storytime Yoga
Wednesday, March 4 | From 9:30 to 10 a.m. | Little Yoga House, 2700 West Anderson Lane
Bring your kiddos of all ages and watch their favorite stories come to life through yoga poses. If you’ve never visited Little Yoga House before, this is a great way to an idea of what kids yoga is!

Ladybug Music Free Demo Class
Wednesday, March 4 | From 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. | The Dance Lofts at Movin’ Easy Dancewear
This fun dance class features music of the award-winning program, Ladybug Music. This class is the perfect way to sing, dance, and have fun while your child works on developmental skills. Designed for children up to 4 years old.

Music with Amber, Johnny, and Sharon
Wednesday, March 4 | From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. | Central Market Westgate, 4477 South Lamar Boulevard
Head over to Central Market to sing along with Amber, Johnny, and Sharon. Songs, bubbles, rhythm sticks, bean bag animals, and more. Kids can also eat for free in the cafe!


Books and Babies
Thursday, March 5 | From 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. | Austin Public Library, Willie Mae Kirk Branch, 3101 Oak Springs Drive
A lapsit storytime program designed for babies 0 to 18 months and their caregivers. Listen along to short stories interspersed with sons, rhymes, and fingerplays.

Seuss X Seuss West: Starting A Garden
Thursday, March 5 | From 2 to 3:30 p.m. | Austin Public Library, Willie Mae Kirk Branch, 3101 Oak Springs Drive
Have your kids learn how to start their own garden! While the class learns the basics of starting a garden, they can decorate their own pots to take home along with seeds and seedlings. All materials are provided!

Starry Night At Girlstart
Thursday, March 5 | From 5:30 to 7 p.m. | Girlstart, 1400 West Anderson Lane
Join Girlstart’s STEM Studio and Mini-Planetarium as they feature a new astrology experience every first Thursday of the month! All ages are welcome to stop by anytime during 5:30 to 7 p.m. for this hands-on class. This Thursday will feature the Mayan Skies Star Show with activities like discovering Mayan crop cultivation techniques and programing robots to make their way up to the top of the Mayan pyramid. Chaperones are required to stay with their children throughout the event!


Tinkergarten Trial Class
Friday, March 6 | From 10 to 11:30 a.m. | Springwoods Park, 9117 Anderson Mill Road
At Tinkergarten, families learn to connect through the outdoors and play! During this class, kids will explore, problem solve, communicate, collaborate, and create together. This class is designed for children ages 18 months to 5 years old. Limited to the first 15 families who register!

Sensory Garden Launch Party
Friday, March 6 | From 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. | Austin Public Library, Twin Oaks Branch, 1800 South Fifth Street
Celebrate all 5 senses in this sensory garden with a special storytime, nature walk, crafts, snacks, and more!

Frozen 2 Free Outdoor Screening
Friday, March 6 | From 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. | Community Cinema and Amphitheater, 9301 Hog Eye Road
Grab your chairs and blankets, bring family and friends, and enjoy a free screening of Frozen 2! Burgers, french fries, snacks, and drinks will be available for purchase throughout the film.
