Heartsong Music Demos

Enjoy a rich and musically immersive 45 minute demo class with Heartsong Music! Heartsong Music provides early childhood music education that supports and nurtures music development in young children, birth through grade 2. Our demos provide an opportunity for your entire family to experience music immersion with live singing, movement, and instrument play. We seek to create a community of music-makers by providing excellent teachers, materials, and classroom resources in a developmentally appropriate, engaging, and fun, participatory environment. Santa’s Wonderland

Santa’s Wonderland is the ultimate free family Christmas event. The magic returns to Bass Pro Shops and Austin-area families are invited to enjoy this enchanting Christmas village offering FREE 4×6 studio-quality photos with Santa and free family holiday activities including fun crafts and games. Features include rustic Christmas cabins, holiday characters and live elves set amongst a dazzling backdrop of snow-covered hills and illuminated Christmas trees. The Santa’s Wonderland Christmas village offers remote control trucks, laser/ foam toy arcade, Lincoln Logs building area and much more. Mozart’s 10th Annual Joyous Light Show Opening Night

The Mozart’s Joyous Light Show is back for the 10th year in a row! Come celebrate the season with us. Magical lights, delicious hot chocolate, tasty treats, and a wonderful time for the whole family. Open every day except Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Open Christmas Eve until 10 p.m.

Blue Genie Art Bazaar Opening Day
Monday through Friday, December 9 through 13 | from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. | Blue Genie Art Bazaar, 6100 Airport Boulevard

The 2019 Bazaar opens Friday and we’ve got the best holiday shopping deal — unique gifts by over 200 artists all under one roof! Special door prizes throughout the day! A full bar will be open all day and at 6pm we’ll have complimentary snacks for you to enjoy while you shop (while supplies last). This program is for babies 3 to 12 months old, and their siblings, with an adult. Baby time encourages language development and promotes social and motor skills through rhymes, songs, stories, and finger plays.Come prepared to sit on the floor one-on-one with your baby in your lap.

Toddler Storytime

A storytime for kids ages 1-3 years, including songs and stories, followed by play time. Mondays at 11:15 a.m and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.

Paws and Read

Recommended for children in grades K to 2. Young readers build their literacy skills while they share a book with a volunteer team from The Dog Alliance. Space is limited. Sign up will begin at the Children’s Desk 15 minutes before the program starts.

Storytime – A Pirate’s Holiday

Children up to age 5 with an adult are welcome to A Pirate’s Holiday. When Jolly ‘Ole White Beard’s elves go on strike, the Christmas Pirates must take a break from hunting for treasure and set sail on the seven seas to White Beard’s toy workshop. There, they are in charge of making millions of gifts for all of the boys and girls of the world. Time begins to run out and the pirates are worried they won’t have enough toys to load into White Beard’s sleigh pulled by eight shiny seahorses. Will the spirit of giving inspire the pirates to share their booty? Sail along with them to find out! This event will be offered in lieu of Bilingual Storytime today.

Spanish Circle Time

Kids ages 0-3 learn basic concepts and Spanish vocabulary through songs and play, followed by social play time. Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m.

Homeschool Program: Austin Reptiles Show

All ages are invited to this hands-on educational program to learn about animal traits and conservation with real reptiles!

Holiday Celebration

Ladybug Music Free Demo Class

Join a FREE DEMO Class of the award-winning kids music program, Ladybug Music®, to see what it’s all about. These parent-and-child (infants to four years) classes are the perfect way to “sing it, boogie down and have fun,” while your kid works on some important developmental skills.

Signing Santa Comes to Town
Wednesday, December 11 | from 4 to 8:30 p.m. | Barton Creek Square Mall, 2901 South Capital of Texas Highway

Signing Santa is a tradition that began in 2004 by the North Austin Optimist Club, and continues thanks to the kindness of Simon Management at Barton Creek Square and Michael Barker Photography. On this one night each year, children who communicate in sign language, wait for their turn on his lap and the opportunity to relay their wish lists directly to Santa – who is deaf like them. Every child or family takes home a free photo and a small treat from his workshop, while enjoying holiday music with students from Texas School for the Deaf’s Sign Choir.

Steam Studio

Science, technology, engineering, art, and math projects with a creative twist for kids ages 4-12 years. Wednesdays at 6 p.m.

Tree Lighting Picnic, S’mores, and Caroling

The Wayback will have picnic dinners available for purchase. Sit by the outdoor fire and roast s’mores with the entire family. The West Ridge Middle School Choir will perform at 5:30 on the lawn.

Hill Country Galleria Holiday Village

Hill Country Galleria will host a Holiday Village on the lawn, starting on Saturday, November 23 and extending through the month of December, where guests can walk the decorated walkways and shop for gifts and goods like custom gifts, ornaments, seasonal coffee and cocoa, mulled cider, toys, spices, and apothecary goods from holiday vendors, such as CiMi Shine, ATX Wood Crafts, Grace & Charm, and more. Guests can also enjoy holiday entertainment like carolers and local dance and choir performances. Free Spanish Class with Colores

Join for the monthly Free Spanish Class! We’ll read books, sing songs and do arts and crafts, ALL in Spanish! Children 0 to 5 years old are welcome to attend with their caregiver. FREE and open to the public!

Hill Country Galleria Holiday Village

Pictures with Santa plus Holiday Crafts!

Free and open to the public! Please join us at the Cepeda Library Branch for pictures with Santa. There will also be a free holiday crafts workshop and goodie bags for the kids!

Noche De Fiesta Holiday Party

Join our Dove Springs community celebration with carols, crafts, refreshments, a unique puppet show, and a free book for every child. Olaf will make a special appearance in our photo area!

Community First! Village of Lights
Friday, December 13 | from 5:30 to 9 p.m. | Community First! Village, 9301 Hog Road

This FREE event boasts more than 250,000 lights choreographed to holiday music and is one of the biggest Christmas light displays in Central Texas! Santa will make an early visit and be available for family photos. Our Advent Market offers unique, handcrafted gifts made by formerly homeless artists and makers who live in Community First! Village. Classic Christmas movies will be featured each night at the Community Cinema. 

Candy Cane Crawl
Friday, December 13 | from 6 to 7 p.m. | Mueller
, 1911 Aldrich Street
This free, holiday event will feature: caroling from the Mueller Community Singers, hot chocolate, holiday photos opportunities, class pack specials from barre3, chair massages and skin mapping from Massage Heights, and 15% off all holiday decor items Lilla & Beth. There will also be a Flashlight Candy Cane Hunt. The hunt will be begin at 7 p.m.. and end at 7:15 p.m. Flashlights will be provided. There will be prizes for the person that finds the most candy canes and for the three people that find the candy-filled candy canes. Holiday costumes are encouraged!
