Happening All Week

Mozart’s 10th Annual Joyous Light Show
Monday through Friday, December 30 through January 3 | from 6 to 10 p.m. | Mozart’s Coffee Roasters

The Mozart’s Joyous Light Show is back for the 10th year in a row! Come celebrate the season with us. Magical lights, delicious hot chocolate, tasty treats, and a wonderful time for the whole family.

Christmas Towne and Mighty Thomas Carnival (Round Rock)
Monday through Friday, December 30 through January 3 | from 5 to 9 p.m. – 4 to 10 p.m. on Friday | Dell Diamond, 3300 East Palm Valley Boulevard
Take your family to the FREE Christmas Towne at the Old Settlers Association and the Dell Diamond parking lot. Christmas Towne features amazing light displays including a walking tunnel of lights, full-scale carnival rides, holiday refreshments and more. Christmas Towne is located at the Old Settlers Association and the Dell Diamond parking lot. Entrance address is 3300 E. Palm Valley Blvd. Christmas Towne is adjacent to the exciting Thomas Carnival featuring full-scale carnival rides. Fun for all ages!

Family Movie Afternoon

All ages welcome for a screening of Balto. Watch and discover family friendly films at the Austin Public Library.

Monday Night Movie
Monday, December 30 | from 5 to 7 p.m. | Austin Public Library – Willie Mae Branch, 3101 Oak Springs Drive

All ages welcome for a screening of Field of Dreams. Rated PG. Watch and discover family friendly films at the Austin Public Library.

Tuesday

Last Storytime of the Decade
December 31 | at 10:30 a.m. | Book People, 603 North Lamar Boulevard
Today’s storytime will feature our favorite books of 2019! The Kids team has chosen– come see which ones made the cut. We’ll also be making our New Year’s resolutions, enjoying yummy snacks, and celebrating another great year at BookKids!

2020 Eve Day
December 31 | from 12 to 6 p.m. | St. Elmo Brewing Company, 440 East Saint Elmo Road
Gather and raise a toast to welcome the new year/ decade during the New Years Eve DAY party! DJ Rickstate will be spinning vinyl from 1 to 5 p.m.
There will be kids activities throughout the day and an early countdown and Champ toast at 5 p.m.! Ring in 2020 when Paris does!  Bring your friends, families and entourage for cold beer and good times!

Austin’s New Year
December 31 | at 7:30 p.m. | Auditorium Shores, 900 W Riverside Drive
Bring in the New Year with a FREE, fun, and family-friendly celebration. Austin’s New Year will transform Auditorium Shores into an alcohol-free wonderland of music, art, special performances and of course, Austin’s legendary food favorites. Capping off the festive evening, the traditional fireworks finale will start at 10 p.m.

Wednesday

Polar Bear Plunge
January 1 | from 12 to 1:30 p.m. | Anderson Mill Limited District, 11500 El Salido Parkway
Join for the annual Polar Bear Plunge on January 1, 2020 at El Salido Pool! Admission to the pool is free during the event and includes hot chocolate with light snacks and pictures with a polar bear (no, not a real one).

4th Annual First Day Hike
January 1 | from 12 to 2 p.m. | Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve, 805 North Capital of Texas Highway
Set the tone of the New Year by spending time outdoors with friends! Scout friends from all Austin groups have been invited. You’re welcome to bring family and friends. Sadly, dogs are not allowed on the preserve, so please leave fur babies at home. This is not an “official” group event, so uniforms are not required.

Pflugerville Pokemon Card Club
Thursday, January 2 | from 6 to 8 p.m. | Pflugerville Rec Center, 400 Immanuel Road, Pflugerville
Join for Pokemon card battles, trading and talk! All experience levels welcome. No registration required, ages 6-14 welcome. Parents: Drop off your kids and work out in the gym, walk our track or even try out a Zumba class. Children 11 years of age and under must have an adult present at the Recreation Center.

La Leche League North Austin Evening Meeting
Thursday, January 2 | from 7 to 9 p.m. | St. David’s North Austin Medical Center, 12221 North Mo Pac Expressway
Group will meet in the main part of the hospital (not the women’s center) on the second floor, room 2B. Mothers and babies of all ages are welcome. They always make time for concerns about your current nursing relationship. Pregnant? Please join to ask questions and hear what new nursing parents are saying.

Lego Lab
Friday, January 3 | from 3 to 4 p.m. | Austin Public Library – Ruiz Branch, 1600 Grove Boulevard

With Legos, you can build anything you can imagine and tell any story you can dream up. Come to the Lego Lab to hear, see, make, and create different stories, all while building with Legos provided by the Library! Program length can vary, please call branch for details. Recommended for ages 5 and up.

Parents Vs. Kids Soccer ( Round Rock)
Friday, January 3 | at 6:30 p.m. | Paloma Lake
, 2633 Los Alamos Pass, Round Rock
Meet and connect with your neighbors in person. Play outside with your kids device-free. Together let us make meaningful connection with our community while playing sport. Come outside and POD (Play with Others Device-Free). Free with pre-registration.
