Santa’s Wonderland

Santa’s Wonderland is the ultimate free family Christmas event. The magic returns to Bass Pro Shops and Austin-area families are invited to enjoy this enchanting Christmas village offering FREE 4×6 studio-quality photos with Santa and free family holiday activities including fun crafts and games. Features include rustic Christmas cabins, holiday characters and live elves set amongst a dazzling backdrop of snow-covered hills and illuminated Christmas trees. The Santa’s Wonderland Christmas village offers remote control trucks, laser/ foam toy arcade, Lincoln Logs building area and much more. Mozart’s 10th Annual Joyous Light Show Opening Night
Monday through Friday, December 2 through 6 | from 6 to 10 p.m. | Mozart’s Coffee Roasters

The Mozart’s Joyous Light Show is back for the 10th year in a row! Come celebrate the season with us. Magical lights, delicious hot chocolate, tasty treats, and a wonderful time for the whole family. Open every day except Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Open Christmas Eve until 10 p.m.

Blue Genie Art Bazaar Opening Day
Monday through Friday, December 2 through 6 | from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. | Blue Genie Art Bazaar, 6100 Airport Boulevard

The 2019 Bazaar opens Friday and we’ve got the best holiday shopping deal — unique gifts by over 200 artists all under one roof! Special door prizes throughout the day! A full bar will be open all day and at 6pm we’ll have complimentary snacks for you to enjoy while you shop (while supplies last). Bring the family for a fun holiday tradition (but please leave pets at home). Entry and parking are always FREE!

This program is for babies 3 to 12 months old, and their siblings, with an adult. Baby time encourages language development and promotes social and motor skills through rhymes, songs, stories, and finger plays.Come prepared to sit on the floor one-on-one with your baby in your lap.

Toddler Storytime

A storytime for kids ages 1-3 years, including songs and stories, followed by play time. Mondays at 11:15 a.m and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.

Paws and Read

Recommended for children in grades K to 2. Young readers build their literacy skills while they share a book with a volunteer team from The Dog Alliance. Space is limited. Sign up will begin at the Children’s Desk 15 minutes before the program starts.

Hill Country Galleria Holiday Village

Hill Country Galleria will host a Holiday Village on the lawn, starting on Saturday, November 23 and extending through the month of December, where guests can walk the decorated walkways and shop for gifts and goods like custom gifts, ornaments, seasonal coffee and cocoa, mulled cider, toys, spices, and apothecary goods from holiday vendors, such as CiMi Shine, ATX Wood Crafts, Grace & Charm, and more. Guests can also enjoy holiday entertainment like carolers and local dance and choir performances. Santa’s Workshop will also be open within the Holiday Village starting November 24 for guests to meet Santa and get special keepsake photos taken. See Hill Country Galleria’s website for their full schedule.

Holidays in the Making with H-E-B
Thursday, December 5 | from 4 to 8 p.m. | APL Central Library, 710 West Cesar Chavez Street

Our friends at H-E-B will take over the Central Library’s Special Event Center to help prepare guests for a stress-free holiday season! Activities will include cookie decorating, making floral arrangements, cooking demonstrations for quick holiday meals, a beauty bar with tips on holiday makeup, and so much more!

Jo’s Road Show at South Congress Jo’s

Starry Night at Girlstart
Thursday, December 5 | from 5:30 to 7 p.m. | Girlstart, 1400 West Anderson Lane
Girlstart’s STEM Studio and Mini-Planetarium is a unique space for families to explore astronomy! Starry Nights are held the first Thursday of every month (except January, June, July, and August), with each month featuring a new astronomy experience and related hands-on activities. All ages are welcome to stop by any time between 5:30 and 7:00 p.m. RSVP is recommended, however it is not required, to join us. Reminder: Chaperones are required. Adults must stay with their children throughout the event. December’s Starry Night will feature Inuit Star Lore Shows and four fun, free, hands-on STEM activities for the entire family!

Southwestern University Candlelight Service

Hill Country Galleria Holiday Village

Community First! Village of Lights
Friday, December 6 | from 5:39 to 9 p.m. | Community First! Village, 9301 Hog Road

This FREE event boasts more than 250,000 lights choreographed to holiday music and is one of the biggest Christmas light displays in Central Texas! Santa will make an early visit and be available for family photos. Our Advent Market offers unique, handcrafted gifts made by formerly homeless artists and makers who live in Community First! Village. Classic Christmas movies will be featured each night at the Community Cinema.
