Another fantastic weekend is here, and there are so many great things to do in and around Austin. Here are the top 10 FREE Austin events happening this weekend.

  1. Cosmic One Year Anniversary
    Friday, March 15 through Sunday, March 17 All Day | Cosmic Coffee Beer Garden
    Over 30 artists including Ian Moore, Erika Wennerstorm and Bob Schneider will take the stage between the hours of 12:00pm and 10:00pm over the four days to provide the perfect escape from the downtown crowds. Delicious food by LeRoy and LewisPueblo Viejo Tommy Want Wingy. Look for some new cocktails on our spring menu, cold local draft beer, amazing coffee drinks and a sneak peek at our limited Cosmic Cold Brew Can. Pet friendly and all ages before 9 p.m. /21 after 9 p.m.
  2. Hotel Texas Monthly

In partnership with Rice Business, Texas Monthly will be providing eight days of a pop-up hotel experience, complete with travel concierge, coffee beer bar, and provocative conversations.   3. Tomorrow’s Sounds Live
    Friday, March 15 through Sunday, March 17 | at 3:30 p.m. | TOMS, 1401 S. Congress Ave.
    TOMS Austin will be hosting a music series featuring live performances by a collection of artists passionate about creating impact through music. TOMORROW’S SOUNDS LIVE @ TOMS will include a live mural installation a bonus day Sunday for families to enjoy kid-friendly music classes in our backyard. This event is free, open to the public appropriate for all ages.
  4. Ralph Breaks the Internet Free Outdoor Screening
    Friday, March 15 | from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. | Community Cinema & Amphitheater, 9301 Hog Eye Rd.
    Mobile Loaves & Fishes invites you to a free movie night at our Community First! Village. Grab chairs and a blanket, bring family and friends, and enjoy this special screening. Explore Community First! Village, pick your spot, and enjoy your favorite movie snacks from the Community Grille. Burgers, french fries, snacks, and drinks will be available for purchase (cards and cash accepted!). The event is free, however a $5 donation would be highly appreciated.
  5. Mondo Gallery Presents: House Party 4
    Friday, March 15 and Saturday, March 16 | from 7 to 10 p.m. on Friday, 12 to 6 p.m. on Saturday | Mondo Gallery, 4115 Guadalupe St.
    It’s that time again! Announcing the return of our all-originals gallery show during SXSW 2019: House Party 4! The exhibition will feature over 100 pieces of one-of-a-kind, original artwork at a fixed $200 price point from an amazing lineup of artists. The two-day show will kick off with a reception open to the public, on Friday, March 15 from 7 to 10 p.m. and will be on display through Saturday, March 16 during regular gallery hours (12 to 6 p.m.).
  6. UMLAUF Public Tour
    Saturday, March 16 | from 1 to 4 p.m. | UMLAUF Sculpture Garden and Museum, 605 Azie Morton Rd.
    Join on the third Saturday of every month at 1 p.m. for a docent-led tour through the Garden. Our highly trained docents will lead small groups through the UMLAUF creating a unique and memorable experience rich in history. The tours are free with admission and registration is not required. Come see the garden from a whole new perspective!
  7. Spring Into Reading With Rock Read
    Saturday, March 16 | from 3 to 6 p.m. | The Domain, On the corner of Agave Lane and Century Oaks Terrace
    The Domain is teaming up with LiveMom.com, Spare the Rock and Spoil the Child to bring the Austin community Rock Read, a family-friendly music and book festival filled with live performances, storytelling, prizes and more. Families are invited to welcome spring with a FREE outdoor festival on The Lawn, near iPic Theaters. With live music performances by Red Yarn (2:20 p.m.), Riders Against the Storm (3:20 p.m.), The Not Its! (4:20 p.m.) and Koo Koo Kanga Roo (5:20 p.m.), children and parents won’t be able to keep their toes from tapping.
  8. Free Goat Yoga (Georgetown)
    Saturday, March 16 | from 6 to 8 p.m. | A Shot of Texas Ranch, 201 Cobb Creek Rd., Georgetown
    Join some adorable little goats at the beautiful – A Shot of Texas Ranch – in Georgetown TX, for a morning of yoga, goats, and BOTTOMLESS MIMOSAS! SWAG Hip Hop YOGA will be doing their signature Hip Hop Yoga, just a tad slower, but ALL THE FUN! No yoga or goat experience required. This is a free event but you must RSVP using the ticket link and bring your own yoga mat. 
  9. One Day Children’s Meditation Course
    Saturday, March 16 | from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. | Austin Dhamma House, 1105 E. Applegate Dr.
    The Central Texas Vipassana Association is happy to announce a 1-day meditation course for boys and girls aged 8–17 years (the girls session is on March 16 while the boys course is on March 18). During the course, the children will learn how to practice Anapana meditation, which helps children better understand themselves and how their minds work. As children learn to calm and concentrate their minds, they gain mastery over their impulses and actions. Their ability to concentrate becomes enhanced, their memory gets sharper and they become calmer. In general, they feel that have a practical tool to use in the face of any type of challenge. According to the tradition of pure Vipassana, courses are run solely on a donation basis, but pre-registration is required
  10. Y’all Fest 2019
    Sunday, March 17 | from 12 to 1o p.m. | St. Elmo Brewing Co., 440 E. St. Elmo Rd.
    Welcome to Y’all Fest 2019!! Come and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with St. Elmo Brewing and Y’all Out Boy! Y’all Out Boy hits the stage at 4 p.m. They’ve got songs from Blink 182, All American Rejects, Fall Out Boy, New Found Glory, My Chemical Romance, Green Day, Jimmy Eat World, Sum 41 and more in their setlist, so come enjoy the pop punk vibes! Free event. All Ages.
