Mobile Loaves & Fishes invites you to a FREE movie night at Community First! Village. Grab chairs and a blanket, bring family and friends, and enjoy this special screening. Get there early to explore Community First! Village, pick your spot, and enjoy your favorite movie snacks. Hot dogs, milkshakes, popcorn, candy and drinks will be available for purchase (cash preferred). The event is free, however a $5 donation would be highly appreciated.
- 60th Anniversary Zilker Summer Musical: All Shook Up

This summer, ZTP journeys back to the 1950’s — the era of the first Zilker Summer Musical — with the Elvis-inspired All Shook Up! And it wouldn’t be a true Elvis-style party without some blue suede shoes. All Shook Up, set in 1950’s Middle America, is a new twist on on Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. The ZTP Team can’t wait to share this toe-tapping, hip-shaking musical comedy – featuring 24 Elvis hits – as well as lots of laughs, love songs and leather jackets. Free admission.

Celebrate the grand re-opening of Republic Square with a FREE all day, family-friendly celebration! On August 1, 1839, Austin’s first plots of land were auctioned off under what we now call the Auction Oaks in present-day Republic Square. This year on the 179th anniversary, join us as we celebrate the past, present, and future of our great city at Austin’s Birthday Bash. A full day of activities and entertainment kicks off with the SFC’s Farmers’ Market Downtown and a free community workout led by Melody Dance Fit!

The East Communities YMCA is opening their doors, inviting the neighbors, and heating up the grill for an after-hours community pool party this summer at our interactive splash pool! Go swimming, play in the sprays and water falls, and take some rides down our two large water slides! Free snacks will be provided! These events are FREE and open to all.
- 13th Annual Back to School Bash

Austin ISD, in collaboration with the city of Austin, will host its 13th Annual Back to School Bash and Safety Fair. Almost 150 community organizations and district departments will provide information and activities to prepare AISD students for a safe and successful school year.

The Austin Pet Expo is a woofing, chirping, and meowing good time for the whole family! Four-legged friends can receive “spa treatments” from local groomers, sample delicious treats, and try on the latest in furry fashions; their humans will enjoy interacting with top trainers and learning pet-care tips from animal welfare organizations. Rounding out the list of activities is an agility demonstration, pet talent and costume shows, and an exciting pet/owner look-a-like contest! Pre-sale adult tickets are $5/day for adults. $3 /day for children over 5. Children under 5 are free.

- Hartman Foundation Concerts in the Park
Sunday, August 5 | from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. | Long Center, 701 W. Riverside Dr.
These free ensemble concerts take place at the Hartman Concert Park in front of the Long Center City Terrace, and each Sunday a different ensemble of the ASO will be featured. A variety of music will be performed, from jazz and light classical to pops selections and film scores. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner and blanket and make it a group outing.
