Another fantastic weekend is here, and there are so many great things to do in and around Austin. Here are the top 10 FREE Austin events happening this weekend.

  1. Friday Movie Matinee: Teen Titans Go!
    Friday, April 5 | at 3:30 p.m. |Austin Public Library – Carver Branch, 1161 Angelina St.
    Teen Titans Go! to the movies. All ages welcome! Watch and discover family friendly films at the Austin Public Library.
  2. KUTX and Mueller Present: Rock the Park with White Denim
    Friday, April 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. | Mueller Lake Park, 4550 Mueller Blvd.
    Mueller and KUTX are excited to rock the amphitheater at Mueller Lake Park again this year with another round of free, family-friendly concerts curated by KUTX and our Sunday-evening kids’ show Spare the Rock, Spoil the Child. Get there a little early to grab your spot on the lawn (blankets are cool, but chairs aren’t) and grab your dinner from a food truck. Rain date is April 12.
  3. Mary Poppins Returns Free Outdoor Screening
    Friday, April 5 | from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. | Community Cinema & Amphitheater, 9301 Hog Eye Rd.
    Mobile Loaves & Fishes invites you to a free movie night at our Community First! Village. Grab chairs and a blanket, bring family and friends, and enjoy this special screening. Explore Community First! Village, pick your spot, and enjoy your favorite movie snacks from the Community Grille. Burgers, french fries, snacks, and drinks will be available for purchase (cards and cash accepted!). The event is free, however a $5 donation would be highly appreciated.
  4. Community Health Fair
    Saturday, April 6 | from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. | Asian American Resource Center, 8401 Cameron Rd.
    Free health resources, screenings, vaccinations and activities for the whole family. Fasting required for Blood Sugar (2 hours) and Cholesterol screenings (8 hours). Please bring your shot records for vaccination.
  5. Vista Brewing One Year Anniversary (Dripping Springs)
    Saturday, April 6 | from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. | Vista Brewing, 13551 FM 150, Driftwood
    Spring is here and Vista Brewing is turning the BIG 1! Join for an all-day party celebrating all things Vista! Free entry and family and dog friendly. All day fun includes live music, farm-fresh specials from the grill, fresh new Vista gear, cornhole & washers, spent grain doggie treats, and so much more.   6. Saltillo Day in Austin
    Saturday, April 6 from 1 to 4 p.m. | Plaza Saltillo, 412 Comal St.
    Head out to Plaza Saltillo in East Austin and celebrate international understanding, cooperation and friendship with our [email protected] from Austin’s sister city in Mexico: Saltillo! Join for a family pachanga, with live music, dance, and craft makers. The event is free (no admission) and open to the public. | Venganse todos a celebrar la comprensión internacional, cooperación y amistad con nuestros amigos de nuestra ciudad hermana, Saltillo, en Austin. Únase a nosotros a nuestra celebración de amigos y familia, donde habrá música en vivo, baile y artesanos. El evento es gratuito y abierto al público.
  7. Austin Bella Corda Classical Guitar Concert (Georgetown)
    Saturday, April 6 | from 2 to 4 p.m. | Georgetown Public Library, 402 W 8th St., Georgetown
    Austin Bella Corda Guitar Ensemble will perform a family-friendly benefit concert for the Young Performing Artist Program at the Georgetown Public Library. Donations will be welcomed for this nonprofit organization, but admission is free. With students hailing from Round Rock, Austin, Cedar Park, and ranging in age from 14-17, the Austin Bella Corda Guitar Ensemble is an internationally award-winning Central Texas-based music group with a mission. This concert is a fundraising effort for the very nonprofit from which they receive training, the Young Performing Artist Program (YPAP). It’s rather fitting, since the YPA Program not only is about providing music instruction for promising, pre-college guitarists, but an essential component of the program is that students give back to their community.
  8. International Pillow Fight Day 2019
    Saturday, April 6 | from 3 to 6 p.m. | 1200 Town Creek Dr.
    Pillow fight day is an international phenomenon held in many major cities. This is a free event and families are welcomed. All pillows and proceeds will go towards the homeless. Step 1: Bring a pillow or camera. Step 2: Drop off extra unused pillow at drop off zone. Step 3: Pillow fight or spectate from the sidelines. Step 4: When finished leave pillow in a drop off zone for donation.
  9. Zilker Theater Presents The 5th Annual FREE Samba Under The Stars
    Sunday, April 6 | from 6:45 to 9 p.m. | Zilker Hillside Theatre, 
    Zilker Theater Presents The 5th Annual FREE Samba Under The Stars, Featuring Carnavalia by Austin Samba! The show features more than 80 performers performing to music by Beth Carvalho, Os Tribalistas and more. Come early for a dance lesson and stay late to dance away the evening. Zilker Hillside Theater is part of the City of Austin’s Division of Museums and Cultural Programs. Preshow dance lesson begins at 6:45pm, show begins at 7 p.m. Rain Date is scheduled for April 7 at 7 p.m.
  10. Jazz in the Park ATX
    Sunday, April 7 from 1 to 8 p.m. | Republic Square, 422 Guadalupe
    People United for Armstrong Park is bringing a taste of New Orleans to Austin! Jazz in the Park ATX is a free show that will highlight New Orleans’ Culture which includes 2nd Line Parades, Mardi Gras Indians and New Orleans Bands and we will spotlight Austin’s Vibrant Culture which will include Austin’s Church Choirs, Dance Troupes and local bands. Join for a full day of fun!
