The Austin Parks Foundation and the Austin Parks and Rec Department are hosting an online event today to teach Austinites how to safely use area parks.

Austin Parks

As the weather warms up and some restrictions ease, it’s important for us to be mindful of how we can safely continue using parks to sustain our mental and physical health.

Free Fun In Austin continues to highlight Austin area locations and activities that may not be available at this time. We encourage you to take all safety measures to keep yourself and your neighbors safe. It is our hope that the stories and features on this site will help inform your plans in the future.

Hear from Austin Parks Foundation, Rodney Franklin from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, and other park and civic organizations as the panel discusses how we can all do our part to keep each other safe while keeping our parks open.

Head to their website for more information. And tune into today’s livestream happening at 1:30 p.m. here.

If you aren’t able to attend, be sure to check the Foundation’s Facebook page for a recording of the event.
