Sure, ACL Fest is a musical festival at its core, but with so much going on, it’s become so much more than that. As much as it’s about the music, it’s also about the food, the drinks, the shopping, the fashion, and the people-watching. A fun festival weekend doesn’t have to break the bank, though — there are plenty of sponsors waiting to create new customers or recommit old ones with plenty of freebies to be found. If you do it right, you can find as many freebies at ACL as you can on a trip to Costco. Here are a few of our favorite freebies at ACL:
-Start your day off right with a little pick me up (or get the energy you need to face the inevitable throngs trying to see Lizzo) at the Uber Rewards Tent (next to the Vrbo Stage). There you can grab a free High Brew to help get you going.
Free Fun In Austin continues to highlight Austin area locations and activities that may not be available at this time. We encourage you to take all safety measures to keep yourself and your neighbors safe. It is our hope that the stories and features on this site will help inform your plans in the future.
-At the Tito’s Festival Oasis, you can relax and cool off with a cocktail. Though those aren’t free, there is a prize wheel you can spin to win some free swag.
-And there are plenty of freebies over at Austin Kiddie Limits if you brought the little ones along!
-A free, specially designed t-shirt awaits those who spend some of their festival down time helping to keep the park clean with their Rock & Recycle program.
-In the Texas heat, something as simple as a fan can be critical to making it through the day. If you forgot to bring your own, TMobile is giving out the fancy kinds that plug into your phone’s charging port. TMobile staff can be found wandering around their charging stations, handing them out.
-Of course, nothing beats the heat like staying hydrated, and because ACL cares about you and the environment, you just need to bring your reusable containers and head to the Camelback Water Stations for free, cool, filtered water to keep you going.
-The new Bonus Tracks Stage offers festival-goers a place to take a break but still be entertained through speakers, activities, live podcast recordings, and more. For Weekend Two there’s a chance to win an Exercise Dress (register online) and plenty of great conversations.
-Air conditioning and a few other perks await festers at the American Express Experience near the AmEx stage. There are also extra perks for AmEx cardholders when they link their cards to the cashless payments system. Cardholders also have special access to the second floor lounge at the Experience.
-Finally, be sure to walk down Barton Springs Road when heading into the fest to get treated to all kinds of freebies — We snagged a variety of Red Bulls, CBD energy pills, a code for $10 off our next Uber trip, a coupon for free queso at Torchy‘s… but our fave was the Bumble pop up where you could get a variety of trendy sunglasses, fanny packs, clear bags totes, motorized fans, and more! Bumble also offered up plenty of freebies inside the park, especially at their Find Your Festie booth.
