Nature Rockin’ Art Projects – Summer Guide

Nature Rocks Austin is a great website for discovering outdoor adventures and nature-oriented events happening around town. But sometimes it’s nice to be able to enjoy nature activities in your own backyard.  With this in mind, Nature Rocks Austin has developed a Summer Activity Guide with eight pages of Nature Rockin’ Art Projects that you can try anytime.  As it says in the guide, “These projects all involve getting out into and learning about nature, but they can also be adapted to be great rainy day activities!”

The guide includes instructions for these projects:

  • Make a drip castle
  • Mix up a fairy potion
  • Miniature gardens
  • Turn your walk into…
  • Sticky nature wristband
  • Handprint trees
  • Leaf rubbings

We tried the first project on a recent visit to Galveston and it turned out pretty cool.

The City of Austin has temporarily banned public gatherings. Please stay home. The Free Fun in Austin calendar is only for live digital events at this time.
