Join The Trail Foundation and the City of Austin as they celebrate the grand opening of the Boardwalk on the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail at Lady Bird Lake on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 10 a.m.
Themed “Run, Walk or Bike on Water,” the celebration will feature a ribbon cutting ceremony, a festive march across the Boardwalk, family entertainment and more! Don’t miss out on this momentous event for the city and The Trail Foundation, which helps keep Austinites fit and healthy by protecting and enhancing one of the city’s main recreational areas.
The Boardwalk will connect the current end of The Trail by the Austin American-Statesman Building to Lakeshore Park, closing a 1.1-mile gap in The Trail on the southeastern side of Lady Bird Lake. This project will provide safe, continuous ADA compliant pedestrian and bicycle access along a beautiful section of the public’s lake and parkland.
