Truly. I love them. Held the first Saturday of each month, March through December, this is a morning of strolling / browsing / shopping / eating not to be missed. Tomorrow, March 6, is the first Market Day of 2010! And I would recommend going now, or next month, before it gets too hot. The market is set up like a huge winding maze of stalls. You can wander around blissfully lost for hours, looking at everything from stained glass to vintage toys. There are more than 475 vendors who sell all manner of new, used, antique and handcrafted items. Visit the online photo gallery to get a taste of all there is on offer.
Wimberley Market opens at 7 AM and is free to the public. You will, however, have to pay $3 for parking, which is a donation to the Lions Club of Wimberley. Bring a hat and wear sunscreen because there is not much shade. You might also want to bring something to cart your purchases around in, because invariably you end up far from your car.
Free Fun In Austin continues to highlight Austin area locations and activities that may not be available at this time.
