Halloween Festival and Movie in the Park: Disney’s Halloweentown

Monster Concert has been a tradition at Austin High School since 1987. The cornerstone of this event is a concert that features orchestras from Vertical Team elementary and middle schools, as well as the various orchestras at Austin High School. In addition to concert performances in the AHS Performing Arts Center (PAC), the Monster Concert features a carnival with a variety of games, delicious food, and haunted house. This year, TSDF is partnering with Heal Kenya / Dell Children’s Medical Global Outreach–Kenya Program in order to present a larger, more fun-filled, family friendly event that will help to broaden awareness of both organizations throughout the Austin community! All proceeds go to benefit Texas School for the Deaf Foundation and Dell Children’s Medical Global Outreach Kenya Program. In addition to the Heal Yeah 5K and 1K Fun Run, the Spooky Skedaddle Halloween Festival will include the following activities: carnival games, costume parade, inflatable obstacle course, bounce house, Dell Children’s Star Flight Helicopter (11 a.m. to 12 p.m.), mini-horses, photo booth, cake walk, food trailers (including Hot Dog King, Savory Grilled Cheese and Crazy Crepes), and music provided by a DJ. New Braunfels Farmers Market Dia de los Muertos Celebration

Vendors will build altars to celebrate loved ones and you can vote for your favorite to be entered in a raffle. You can wear your family friendly costumes and dress up your pets. Come listen to Spanish music at the pavilion and participate in the Instagram contest. There will also be a fun and traditional activity for the children.

Cedar Park Library Foundation’s Fable Fest – This event has been postponed until December 5.

Attractions and entertainment at this year’s Fable Fest include: The Kings Carnival where kids of all ages can play games, arts and crafts, enjoy inflatables, a petting zoo and pony rides (requires tickets which can be purchased at event); The Cobblestone Market, which provides the opportunity to shop with a variety of Arts and Craft vendors and other area merchants; The Pig’s Pub, where you can eat your fill; and The Royal Academy, which is home to demonstrations of Jousting, Archery, Fencing and other Kingdom sports. Viva la Vida Festival
October 31, 2015 from 12–8 p.m. | Mexic-Arte Museum, 419 Congress Ave, Austin
This year, Austin’s largest and longest-running Day of the Dead event features a grand procession, a Day of the Dead mercado, live music, a Sugar Skull float by local piñata artisans Monica and Sergio Lejarazu from Jumpolin Piñatas, an exhibition with community altars highlighting the states of Mexico inside the Museum, and educational programs. Attendees can also taste traditional foods from Austin’s best food trucks, hands-on art activities, and artist demos. The Grand Procession gathers on 6th street between Chicon and Comal in East Austin, bringing together a vibrant and varied mix of the traditional, contemporary, and Austin “weird”. The Procession – including costumes, props, live music, dancers, and floats –marches down historic 6th Street and culminates at 4th Street and Congress Avenue, marking the transition from the afternoon to the exciting evening portion of the street festival.

Central Market Día de los Muertos

On Halloween, Saturday, October 31st, thousands of spectators will gather with Planet K to rejoice and celebrate the lives of loved ones passed. There will be a grand display of life affirming fireworks, celebrating Dia De Los Muertos, the traditional Mexican holiday, Planet K style.
