Giveaway: Woman’s Hair Cut and Coloring at Waterstone Salon

Hi, there. My name is Katie and my life is forever changed.

As you may remember, I wrote a post last year about getting my haircut at Waterstone Salon. In this tell-all confession, I may have mentioned that I hadn’t gotten my hair professionally cut in years. On that visit to Waterstone, the incredible Thibault accentuated what was already present in my hair: long waves. In this most recent visit, my new best friend, Jean, pulled a brave side out of me and chopped off the long waves to focus on my new desire for a ’70s, bohemian look. Regarding the cut and the color, she hit it out of the park.

I was told going into this that I was simply going to get my hair colored, but to quote my new bff, “That feels incomplete. Color always comes with a cut.” And this is when my bravery kicked in. It was something about Jean’s personality, the amount I trusted her, and the confidence I could immediately tell she has in her creative choices that boosted my bravery. I said, “Yep. That’s it,” to a picture of a very different cut than the one I walked in wearing. It was go time.

I cannot overemphasize how much I trusted Jean. She will put you at ease the second you shake her hand when you stand up to meet her. Not only that, but all throughout my appointment I kept saying, “It’s insane that you know exactly what it will look like when it’s done! Not even when you’re done and you style it, but when I just let it air dry at home. You know what it’ll look like. It’s blowing my mind.” She simply knows what she’s doing, and that fact is obvious with every choice she makes.

The nice thing is, you’ll find that is the case with all of the stylists at Waterstone. I have worked with a few of them now, and it’s the truth: they’re the top caliber of artists, and their medium is the top of your head. It’s incredible.

I walked out of this experience knowing that I’ll be back to see Jean, and I’ll be back to get more of that beautiful rose gold in my hair. She’s an artist and a friend and I would recommend to the end of my days that you go take a seat in the chair in front of her!

Finally, here’s the classic before and after shot! The bangs make my eyes pop and again, how did she know what the cut would look like with my own styling habits? I’m telling you. Genius.

I’m including another before and after so you can see the coloring job, as well! Jean took what was just a grown out, not great highlight and turned it into an even and natural fade using a technique called balayage. Here she is doing her thing:

And here is the finished product!

Look at how even that is! Goodness. Officially no longer embarrassed to be seen in public. Go team.

All in all, this was such a great experience, I’ll never settle for less. (That’s how my life has been forever changed.) There is incredible news here for you, too! You can win a chance to sit in that chair in front of Jean for FREE! You can find more details about how to enter below.
