Summer Sunset Series
Tuesday, June 18 | from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. | Republic Square, 422 Guadalupe St.
Join for Summer Sunset Series 2019, presented by Topo Chico and sponsored by Outdoor Voices, in Republic Square. An hour vinyasa flow led by a Wanderlust Yoga Austin instructor and accompanied by a live musician or DJ. We hope to build a connection through the activation of yoga, music and community. This free event will be open to the public and catered to all levels of yoga experience. Every Tuesday this summer.

Date Night at the DAC: Camp Out
Wednesday, June 19 | from 7 to 9 p.m. | Dougherty Arts Center, 1110 Barton Springs Rd.
Celebrate the start of summer with the Dougherty Arts Center at a mock backyard camp out! Try your hand at sun gazing with Austin Astronomical Society and make old school camp crafts like friendship bracelets and sit-upons. Enjoy a cookout (featuring vegetarian options) including customizable tin foil s’mores, and bask in the sun of one of the longest days of the year. Parking at the DAC is free but limited. There is parking available at the Palmer Event Center. In addition there are parking options available off Riverside Drive and Lee Barton Drive. We also want to encourage all our friends to drive safely, or better yet catch a taxi, ride share, bus or bike!

Rhythm on the Stage: Free West African Date Night

First up is West African Dance! Three hot summer nights, two performing arts organizations, one stage and YOU! AND IT’S ALL FREE!
Presented by Ballet Austin and the Long Center for the Performing Arts. Ballet Austin partners with the Long Center each summer for Rhythm on Stage. Come dance and experience what it’s like to take center stage inside the Long Center’s Dell Hall. That’s right! You will be dancing on the stage where Ballet Austin performs! Trace Secret Garden Happy Hour

Georgetown’s Music in the Square Summer Concert Series

Music on the Square, a free summer concert series, returns to “The Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas” in Georgetown, just 25 miles north of Austin. These family-friendly, live music shows run Friday nights from June through August, with the exception of June 7, July 5, and August 2. There’s music for everyone including the Wilson String Band playing country rockabilly, Megatune playing reggae & Motown, Mike Hamilton playing saxophone jazz, and Lexxi Garza performing 80’s & 90’s covers.

Austin Refugee Day Festival

The Austin community is invited to join us for a family fun event.  This free event is open to the public and will be a fun park day for the community that includes inflatable bounce house, carnival games for prizes, face painting etc. as well as education experiences and resource booths for attendees.  We’re excited to include soccer clinics for youth through a partnership with Austin Soccer Foundation. We will also be showcasing global foods for lunch in partnership with refugee clients that includes authentic Syrian, Afghani, Burmese, Congolese and Iraqi food!

The Hartman Foundation Concerts in the Park

Couples lounging on blankets, old friends in their trusty folding chairs, lone bicyclists and pedestrians who have been distracted from their destinations—all united by the sound of music. The Hartman Foundation “Concerts in the Park,” presented by the Austin Symphony Orchestra, brings together ardent enthusiasts and unwitting attendees alike just as similar events did in town centers years ago. In its 17th summer season, these free ensemble concerts take place in the Hartman Concert Park in front of the Long Center City Terrace and run on Sunday evenings from June 2nd through August 25th (except July 7) 7:30 p.m. A gift from the Hartman Family Foundation, these concerts are presented to the Austin community in thanks for its continued, generous support. Each Sunday a different ensemble of the Austin Symphony will be featured at the new Hartman Park, located on the grounds of the Long Center for the Performing Arts, performing music from jazz and light classical to pops selections and film scores.
