Summer Bluegrass Series

Sour Duck Market has launched an ongoing Bluegrass series this summer with The Central Texas Bluegrass Association on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.! Sour Duck Market will welcome duos and trios, and all types of Bluegrass music (progressive, weird, and beyond). There is no cover and this series is family friendly!

The City of Austin has temporarily banned public gatherings. Please stay home. The Free Fun in Austin calendar is only for live digital events at this time.

Summer Slasher Series at the Secret Bar

Date Night at the DAC: Soiree

Pull up a chair, take your place at the table, and become a living part of Maura Schaffer’s latest installation, Ensoul (which means to endow with a soul). Turn your dining table into a piece of art with an array of fabrics and materials and share a meal with the artist. You will begin as strangers and leave as friends. Blues on the Green

Austin’s favorite summer tradition is back for it’s 29th season! ACL Radio’s Blues on the Green invites music lovers out to Zilker Park to enjoy a family and pet friendly night of homegrown music in a relaxed atmosphere. Grab your family, friends, dogs, and blankets, and join us for Austin’s largest FREE concert series! This month’s artist is Ben Kweller.

Unplugged at the Grove

Join Austin City Limits Radio in celebrating 26 years of ACL Radio’s Unplugged at the Grove with free live music every Thursday evening at the iconic Shady Grove on Barton Springs Road! It’s 23 consecutive weeks of the best live music, food, and fun you’ll experience under the clear, warm skies of Austin, Texas, with absolutely no cover charge! All ages are welcome to attend, and folks 21+ can enjoy $4 Ziegenbocks. The live music kicks off at 8 p.m.

Cool Summer Nights 2019: Time

The second Cool Summer Nights of the season highlights the many ways in which the American experience has been impacted by inventions, technologies and cultural movements in conjunction with the exhibition WW1 America. Forget about standing outside in the heat of the summer! Come inside to the Bullock Museum for three FREE evenings celebrating culture, community and Texas history.

Georgetown’s Music in the Square Summer Concert Series
Friday, July 19 | from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. | Downtown Georgetown Square, 116 W 8th St, Georgetown

Music on the Square, a free summer concert series, returns to “The Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas” in Georgetown, just 25 miles north of Austin. These family-friendly, live music shows run Friday nights from June through August, with the exception of June 7, July 5, and August 2. There’s music for everyone including the Wilson String Band playing country rockabilly, Megatune playing reggae & Motown, Mike Hamilton playing saxophone jazz, and Lexxi Garza performing 80’s & 90’s covers.

Zombie Apocalypse Hike (Lockhart)

Have you ever wondered about your ability to survive in the wild?  Test your survival skills, knowledge, and luck in this fun and family friendly program! The Hartman Foundation Concerts in the Park
Sunday, July 21 | from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. | Long Center for the Performing Arts, 701 W Riverside

Kids frolicking, couples lounging on blankets, old friends in their trusty folding chairs, lone bicyclists and pedestrians who have been distracted from their destinations—all united by the sound of music. The Hartman Foundation “Concerts in the Park,” presented by the Austin Symphony Orchestra, brings together ardent enthusiasts and unwitting attendees alike just as similar events did in town centers years ago. In its 17th summer season, these free ensemble concerts take place in the Hartman Concert Park in front of the Long Center City Terrace and run on Sunday evenings from June 2nd through August 25th (except July 7th) 7:30 p.m. A gift from the Hartman Family Foundation, these concerts are presented to the Austin community in thanks for its continued, generous support. Each Sunday a different ensemble of the Austin Symphony will be featured at the new Hartman Park, located on the grounds of the Long Center for the Performing Arts, performing music from jazz and light classical to pops selections and film scores. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner and blanket and make it a group outing.
