RC Airshow – ARCA 2018

This event is a heart-pounding, adrenaline pumping spectator event that is second to none in Texas! All the airplanes flying in this event have wingspans of 7 feet or more! Pilots from all over Texas, and beyond will be tearing up the sky with some of the most incredible realistic radio control airplanes that you will ever see! The Fall Big Bird event is an incredible experience for the family to come see on Friday, August 31, and, the BIG DAY, Saturday, September 1. The fun starts around 10 a.m. but get there earlier and talk to the pilots, see the planes and pick a spot to sit! FREE parking and FREE admission to the public. Concessions will be available for purchase onsite (11-3) with a shaded picnic area, and an air conditioned club house.

Torchy’s Tacos Presents E.T. The Extra Terrestrial

Torchy’s Tacos will present a free screening of E.T. the Extra Terrestrial at Mueller Lake Park in celebration of their fifth annual Some Like It Hot August Taco of the Month campaign along with Alamo Drafthouse. Here’s what you need to know for this special one-night-only event: Torchy’s Tacos will have their Taco Truck onsite to serve up a selection of Torchy’s menu favorites. This event is free to the public, but it’s BYOC (Bring Your Own Chair). The screening will start at dark (around 8 p.m.) but there will be a pre-show and Torchy’s Tacos surprises starting at 6:30 p.m. This event is on a first come / first serve in regards to seating. The park will fill up so get there early!

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off  Free Outdoor Screening

Free Labor Day Weekend Community Event
Saturday, September 1 | from 1 to 4 p.m. | Lenoir’s Wine Garden, 1807 S 1st St
For the third year in a row, Lenoir, Lick Honest Ice Creams, and Revolution Spirits are celebrating community by turning the spotlight on Becker Elementary Schools’ organic and educational non-profit gardening program, The Becker Green Classroom. There will be ice cream to lick, wine, beer and Revolution Spirits to sip, and snacks to eat. ALL of the proceeds from Lick’s ice cream and a portion of other sales will also benefit Becker Elementary’s Green Classroom! If that’s not enough to entice you, then let the music perk your ears: The Lost Pines will be performing!

H-E-B Free First Sunday: Totally Texas

Lone Star Zine Fest 2018

Lone Star Zine Fest is a FREE, fun, and engaging event open to the general public and appropriate for all ages. At the heart of the event is an exhibition featuring over three dozen tables featuring Central Texas zine creators, collectives, distributors, retailers, libraries, and small presses sharing their amazing work in one big room and showcasing the diversity of expression made possible by independent- and self-publishing.

Monday, September 3

No DWI Free Labor Day Rides

The program is simple. All you have to do is make the right choice to take a taxi or use a ride-sharing service to get home if you’ve been drinking, pay for it up front, and we’ll reimburse you for it via PayPal. Rides must be in the Houston or Austin metro areas or in the Highland Lakes area. Rides must be taken between 5 p.m. on the day of the holiday and 10 a.m. the next morning.
