South Central Waterfront: Walk & Draw

The City of Austin and local artist Ann Armstrong of Austin’s Atlas are teaming up to produce a crowdsourced Field Guide to the South Central Waterfront. Meet at 6:30pm. What is a Walk and Draw? It is a pedestrian powered mapping project where participants are outfitted with paper, pen, and clipboard, and then asked to tackle a specified block of the South Central Waterfront. All of the participants combined pieces will be stitched together to form a singular map that will be on display during the upcoming charrette. A little bonus for participation: for those who submit the completed blocks at the end of the Walk and Draw will receive their own copy of the Austin’s Atlas Urban Oddities illustrated pedestrian guide. (Statesman Bat Observation Center, Congress Ave, under the bridge, Austin)
