Free Fun In Austin continues to highlight Austin area locations and activities that may not be available at this time. Come out this Thursday from 10am-2pm and enjoy FREE Bloody Marys, Shiner, and Tacodeli breakfast tacos while enjoying one of the best music lineups of this year’s SXSW. The show starts with Eleanor Freidberger (singer/songwriter), Joesph (Portland sister act with beautiful harmonies), Margaret Claspy (singer/songwriter), Eliot Sumner (a brilliant new performer who also happens to be Sting’s daughter), The Heavy (of “How You Like me Now?” fame), Thao & the Get Down Stay Down (high energy alt-rock/folk), and Caveman (NYC indie rock band). As part of the official FREE parties hosted by SXSW, tonight’s showcase features Carson McHone 4pm, Parker Millsap 5pm, Brian Fallon 6pm, Thao & The Get Down Stay Down 7pm, and Ray LaMontagne 8pm. Now in its 17th year, the Twangfest party is among the most anticipated afternoon events during the week-long South by Southwest gathering. This year, enjoy one amazing event with 10 bands, including Pirates Canoe, Jack Ingram, Whitney Rose, Escondido, and more! The party runs noon-5pm. with two stages at the Broken Spoke.
