Classic Television eXperience: The Spooktacular Edition

Join ATX Television Festival and Weather Up for A Classic Television eXperience, an evening of classic TV and cocktails under the stars. They’ll have an extended happy hour and drink specials available while you watch classic Halloween themed episodes of Bewitched, The Addams Family, and The Dick Van Dyke Show. This event is FREE and open to the public 7 – 8:30 p.m., but please RSVP if you plan to attend. Weather Up welcomes all ages until 10 p.m. There’s a small amount of seating, available first come/first serve, so feel free to bring your low-back lawn chairs and blankets! Mini International Horror Film Fest 2016: Juan of the Dead

Join UT Libraries for a night of gruesomely, funny laughs and clever conversation with a screening and discussion of the Spanish-Cuban film Juan of the Dead. Friday Night Flix: Beetlejuice

Lone Star Court is kicking off the Halloween weekend by featuring the 1980s creepy classic Beetlejuice for their Friday Night Flix series. Come decked out in your costume and enter for your chance to win a number of prizes through LSC’s Halloween Costume Contest. Additionally, LSC’s food truck, The Feed Store will be onsite, serving up a variety of tasty treats including an all night Happy Hour! Día de los Muertos Celebration

The City of Austin’s Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center will have a variety of activities associated with their seventh annual Día de los Muertos event, including sugar skull making, altar building and a car show. This is the largest annual event at the ESB-MACC, and is FREE, open to the public and a great outing for families (feel free to bring chairs). The event is from 1 – 6 p.m. and will include live music and entertainment, family art activities, a costume contest and more. Go here for more information about the events schedule. Escape to Zombie Island Halloween 

Get your costume ready for the 2nd annual Treaty Oak Halloween party! They have a full day of festivities for you with a costume competition, zombie face painting, haunted hayrides and great live music from Chili Cold Blood (7 – 9 p.m.) and Choctaw Wildfire (4 – 6 p.m.). The event is FREE and is from noon – 10 p.m. They’ll also have house-made treats, and spooky specialty cocktails including a Frozen Texas Zombie and a Grave Digger (their play on corpse reviver). POLKAPOCALYPSE! by the Elisabet Ney Museum and Texas Folklife

The annual POLKAPOCALYPSE! is upon us! Four awesome Polka bands–including two Grammy winners –will rock the boots off your lederhosen with a crazy mix of Tejano, Czech, German, Ukranian, Polish, Slavic, and Norteno sounds! Austin’s Fabulous Polkasonic, Houston’s Polish Pete and the Polka I Hardly Knew Her Band, San Antonio’s Los Texmaniacs, and Denton’s Brave Combo will all be performing! Spooktacular Sunday Market at HOPE Farmer’s Market

Come eat, drink, shop and be SpOoOooktacular on this Halloween Eve at HOPE Farmer’s Market. Ever seen a 1960 Alco diesel locomotive up close? Now’s your chance! Austin Steam Train will be stopping by at 12:30 p.m. Chef Phil is whipping up some Eggcellent interactive samples for everyone. Live Music by Laura Lee Imhoff at 11 a.m., Selmer’s Arch at 12 p.m., and Mesa Inn at 1:30 p.m. They’ll also have a fun backdrop set up so you can take a selfie or group shot with their market scarecrow. And don’t forget to enter the costume contests at 1 p.m. for Most Creative Costume, Best Dressed Pet, and Most Spooktacular Chalk Art (tag them on social media with the hashtag).
