Love and Chaos at The Saxon Pub

Nestled somewhere between the beauty of love and the turmoil of chaos comes a unique sound from Texas artists and long-time co-collaborators, AJ Vallejo and Kendall Beard. The powerful songwriting duo came together to create something new with an undeniable chemistry that carries over into each and every song. Derailers with Roy Heinrich at The Broken Spoke

The Derailers have been featured on the stages of The Grand Ole Opry, A Prairie Home Companion, Late Night with Conan O’Brien and the U.S. President’s Inaugural Ball. The band performed at their friend Buck Owens’ 70th birthday party at Owens’ personal request. A Derailers song was played back to Earth from the first iPod taken into outer space by astronaut Dr. Stephen K. Robinson. Austin’s Community New Year’s Eve Celebration

Bring in the New Year with a free, fun and family-friendly celebration! Austin’s New Year will transform Vic Mathias Shores into a wonderland of music, art, special performances and of course, Austin’s legendary food favorites. The 2016 event will include three stages, 15 local and regional bands, food trucks, kid’s activities, and multiple art installations. The Lake Stage will showcase: Shinyribs, an American country-soul; swamp funk band, singer-songwriter Ray Wyllie Hubbard; and the young talented blues men, The Peterson Brothers. Get ready to jump up and down with a CAPYAC dance party headlining at the Oak stage; Harvest Thieves bringing Americana and Folk-Rock; and Roxy Roca, an Austin-based, six-piece, southern soul band driven by a horn section and powerful vocals. Capping off the festive evening, the traditional fireworks finale will start at 10 p.m. The FREE event kicks off at 3 p.m., click here to see the full schedule. Barton Springs Polar Bear Splash

Join us for the annual Polar Bear Splash at Barton Springs Pool on New Year’s Day. Admission to the pool is FREE. Save Our Springs will be set up with our commemorative shirts for sale, and free coffee and donuts! Everything is first come, first serve, and we will run out. So, get there early, bring your friends and family to enjoy the inviting 68 degree water, and ring in the new year with the rejuvenating power of Barton Springs. Are you brave enough to slide into the pfrigid water at Scott Mentzer Pool to kick off your new year? The event lasts until the last brave soul who was in line at 10 a.m. goes down the slide. Arrive early so you don’t miss out! The first 50 people will get a new, long-sleeved t-shirt. No, the pool isn’t heated.
