Letterpress PLAY paper toys and art launches a hands-on studio/retail space in Austin with a free grand opening celebration. All ages are invited to enjoy a night of imagination handcrafted in Austin.
Letterpress PLAY, inspired by Texas native and creative, Kyle Hawley, is launching a studio and retail space fostering sustainability, community and play for ages 4 to 100. On Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 5pm-9pm, at 2300 S Lamar Blvd #108, Austin, Texas, 78704, the grand opening and ribbon-cutting will showcase the local wonder of Letterpress PLAY’s mission and their paper DIY crafts that produce zero-waste paper toys, cards, washable paper hats, hankies and posters for a cause.
Join this joyful and free event at the Letterpress PLAY studio and retail space with sweet and savory biscuits from our friends at Confituras Little Kitchen. At 7 pm you won’t want to miss the ribbon cutting ceremony as hosts and guests are serenaded by the Minor Mishap Marching Band.
This celebration is a dream come true for Founder/Creative Director Kyle Hawley, “From the beginning, I took great care to form Letterpress PLAY as a communal and local studio, bringing ideas and locals together to express their creativity using industrial revolution presses and all the fun and magic that goes with its art.”
Hawley welcomes everyone on May 16 to visit Letterpress PLAY and to see the world in a different way. Please be advised parking will be limited. Neighborhood and street parking on Goodrich is available. We encourage green transportation as well and are closely located on the Capital Metro routes for Bluebonnet Station.
(Thursday) 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
