Waller Creek Conservancy invites the public to hear participating artists and local Austin community leaders and historians discuss the issues raised by the High Line Network Joint Art Initiative exhibition, New Monuments for New Cities. The three-month public art exhibition on Red River Street and 12th Street raises a number of questions about who and what has been memorialized in the past and how applying new lenses could shift the paradigm in the future.
Two talks will feature the participating Central Texas artists in New Monuments for New Cities on Thursday March 28 and May 16. In between, Waller Creek Conservancy will host a panel discussion with Preservation Austin and the Austin History Center on May 2. All these events are free but registration is required via Eventbrite.
