On February 11, our little ole Hyde Park shop turns 9 years old. And after a tough year in 2018 – opening and closing our downtown kitchen – we’re more grateful than ever before to still be slinging cheese. That means, we’ve got to celebrate in style. And as is tradition by this point, we’re making it rain free cheese across Austin with our #FreeCheeseWeek – and this year, we have more participating restaurants than ever. Additionally, we’re offering extra events and tastings, including the launch of a few new classes. (Fondue anyone?!) Read on for details of each. Don’t forget to drop by our shop, where we’ll be giving out complimentary samples of a specialty cheese made just for us by local producer CKC Farms. Most importantly, thank you for your part in helping us get where we are today. In supporting us, you support hundreds of artisanal producers and our mission: #DoGoodEatGood.
FREE CHEESE WEEK
Did you know we source cheese, cured meats, and pairings for 150 chefs, restaurants, and industry folk in Central Texas? From Austin to San Antonio to Waco to the Hill Country, we love our partners. In appreciation to some of them and you, we’re giving out free cheese! The schedule follows. Note that each restaurant will start at 5pm (or earliest open time after that) and will only give one free cheese plate per table; we encourage you to be considerate to your restaurant folk (ie a drink and/or tip goes nicely with that free cheese plate!).
