Mills Pond, located in the Wells Branch MUD in North Austin, is a great little pond for a morning (before-it-gets-too-hot) stroll. We love it because it’s just the right size for little legs to be able to walk around, without needing a stroller. Plus, there are ducks to feed, fishing docks to check out and a boardwalk to cross. Mills Pond is also close to three playgrounds, if you want to extend your visit a bit. Follow the hike and bike trail away from the pond to find Katherine Fleischer Park (a long walk with one small playground on the way, and a big fun playground at the end) or a smaller playground on Bratton Lane (a short walk with a tunnel under the road to get there). You can download a trail map here.
Here are some photos from our visit in February. I’m sure the trees have leaves again now.
