Mayfield Park and Preserve is a beautiful park located near the heart of the city. Situated on 21 acres, the park is a former estate that was gifted to the city in 1971 and is included on the National Register of Historic Places.

The park itself includes an historic cottage, 2 acres of gardens, water lilies, and brilliant peacocks who roam the grounds, while the neighboring preserve includes a wildlife habitat and walking trails.

One of the major attractions of Mayfield Park is that beautiful peacocks freely roam the grounds. The birds are amazing to look at and are truly a spectacle to enjoy so close to downtown. Tip: parents of little ones might want to note that peacock cries can be quite loud and to make sure that their children are aware of that ahead of time.
